My wife and I want to buy a laptop to watch movies, Netflix, etc. No work tasks except perhaps family emails. My iPhone has been my only internet access and it is quite up to the task except for the screen size. Can’t really hack showing movies for us to watch together. Any recommendations for 11-14 inch screen laptops for use only as an entertainment device? Cheap and screen are 2 top priorities.

A site I have stumbled across with prices too good to believe is Daily Sale. Anyone have experience with them?

How to waste money. Look for the absolute cheapest thing on the internet. Bonus points if it’s shipped from China.

You don't want to use a TV?
Maybe the largest screen refurbished laptop from Best Buy.

Why not get a TV? The modern ones are pretty cheap and can watch Netflix.

Why not get a TV? The modern ones are pretty cheap and can watch Netflix. Many are Roku ready meaning they come loaded with tons of free movie channels

As the owner of a smart TV (Christmas gift from my daughters) I'd agree with Marshall. The computer is part of the TV and after you learn to use it (which I am still doing) everything you are saying you want is there. Except email.
I have seen where you can use mail using your smart TV, but it sounds onerous. On the other hand, using your smart tv as a screen for your phone sounds like it might be simple. And with a wireless keyboard for your phone (I use mine all the time) you'll be all set.
I am no tech guru, but Mike is absolutely right, I see this in schools all the time. Cheap laptops are all junk. Chromebooks included. Do NOT get one of those.

I agree with the small "smart" TV idea. Cheap and easy.
Fiddlerina and I often use her large iPad Pro to watch things while sitting at the kitchen table. Easy to use but more expensive.
A laptop means as many support kinds of tasks as your desktop, software updates, defrags, all of it. Much nicer to use a device designed just for media consumption without the extra hassle.
