Good morning. We'll have a mild, sunny day. I don't have any excuses for not getting busy with the shovel in areas in our backyard that need tending. Maybe I should think harder.
There were too many possibilities in Wordle and luck didn't come to my rescue.
Have a good day.

Good morning. Supposed to be a nice day here in Florida with a cold front moving in with rain overnight. This afternoon Claire and I are going to see "Beautiful" a musical based on Carol Kings life and music. Tonight she is going to hang with our daughter and granddaughter for a girls night while I go with the son in law and grandson to a Lightning game for a boys night. Should be an excellent time for all. Have good ones.

Started to work on our taxes yesterday as all the tax statements are starting to show up. We pay every year, so it's only matter of how much. But I'll still wait until early April to actually pay them.
My sisters are coming to visit for a week in Feb. and it's forecast for rain every day they are here. Amazing that we get so little rain generally, but if you pick a week to visit..... I should avoid washing the car that week. It'll only make it worse.

Good morning.
30F-40F mostly cloudy.
Saturday shop and I'll have a visitor or two. Should come up with an excuse to get DaWife out of the house for a while as she hasn't been out all week.

Laundry in. Whole wheat pancakes later. Hoping to get Turbotax installed so I can start working on those pesky taxes.I like to get an early start in case of any problems. We will definitely owe because we sold some mutual fund shares late in the year. I did increase the 4th quarter estimated tax payment, but intentionally not enough to cover the gain. Looks like another nice sunny day here with an expected high of 69 and into the 70s for the next few days. This kind of weather is why we have snowbirds.

Started the day with a Wordle fail.
We got a half inch of rain since midnight, say the weather dudes. With more of the same on tap for the day. A good day to mess about with the guitar, watch some tv, and play sudoku. The wife is off to make cards this morning with some other crafting crazy gals, so lunch is looking like Eduardoβs take out.

Good day -- Met Opera just launched into "Carmen" on the wireless, but I'll be switching it off shortly to watch the start of the Rolex 24-hour race from Daytona. Weather there looks ideal.
Then I may visit TJ's to pick up some items I forgot to buy last time: cold brew coffee, 100-cal dark chocolate bars, cheese, Cara Cara oranges, etc.
Have a weekend, all!

Stray thoughts. I was reading that metro Phoenix had about 1.5 million people when I moved here in 1979. Now it has about 4.5 million.
The US probably looks different to people in Phoenix and people in places like Vinton. I'm sure that Vinton has changed in the last 40 years but the change probably hasn't been at an indigestible rate. Here, the changes have been so rapid that it's hard to keep up with them. I seldom get out of an area in north central Phoenix of about nine square miles. When I do, nothing is really recognizable. I might as well be in Los Angeles.

I was lucky enough to get Wordle in two today. I've got this wonderful American Gothic house on my route. It sits WAY off the road. Sadly, one of the massive maples in the front yard was planted directly in the middle of the front facade, thereby blocking the perfect architecture (especially the spired windows).

Good evening. It has been a dog park, dog wash, napping, and guitar playing day. Though it poured rain for a while today we lucked out and caught a dry spell at the park, but the ground is super saturated.
