Yul and the Tides were among my favorite groups.
Good morning. I checked the hourly forecast on the National Weather Service site. In the last hour the chance of rain went from about 15 percent to about 80 percent. Was it just because I woke up?
I woke up sniffly and coughing so today's to-do list may get revised. I'll see how it goes. I feel fine but I don't want to share a bug with anyone.
Always look on the bright side of life.

Good Morning.
38F-51F cloudy.
Up early as my back is not giving me hell today but 2 spoiled cats were. Which means I'll happily get down to the shop and get some work done before doing errands later. I made that lovely Bacon & Scallion Cream Cheese spread and we're out of English muffins.
Got to watch a new episode of Father Brown last night, cozy British murder mystery. Britbox has lots of them.

Wednesday, my busiest workday of the week, with Features deadlines galore for papers that will be published in the next six days. I will keep my head down and keep shoveling.
Strib says it may hit 55 degrees today, which would be a record high for the date. We shall see. Lots of motorcycles have come out of hibernation recently.
I just saved a reporter from looking foolish in a piece about a local guy whose grandfather was a WW II hero. Writer said the guy was seated in front of a B-17 propeller hanging on his office wall. Well, it's a miniaturized MODEL of a B-17 prop, duh. Each blade of a real one would be as long as the dude is tall. And, of course, there's a photo running with the story showing the office, so, yeah, we would have heard from readers on that one.
I've never been able to understand why, but newspaper reporters seem to be more ill-informed about aviation than any other topic. Don't get me started on "stalls," for example. Or the wire service reporter who in describing a recent fender bender at an airport gate felt it important to note that one of the jets was a Boeing 737 Max, like that was relevant to a backing-up incident on the ground.

Alarm company will be here for a service call this morning. Their latest software upgrade made the time on our system keep resetting to UTC. Plus it's time for a new 12 volt battery. Plus Mr. H would like them to fix the backlight on the display or install a new display. Drywall guy was here yesterday to repair the area where the bathtub fixtures were replaced on Monday. Plumber will be back on Friday to replace the shower fixtures. Drywall guy did a great job so we're getting a quote on other needed drywall repair. He's meticulous, so that will require a lot of hours and won't be cheap.
We only got a quarter inch of rain out of the big storm that flooded the west coast. But there's a 90% chance of more rain this morning and a 50% chance tonight. Our plan is to go out for Mexican food this evening and hit the dollar store on the way. But if the weather is too nasty, we'll postpone that trip for another day.

I'm finally up, coffee in hand, after oversleeping.
Before waking up I was dreaming about the moose that we saw whilst on our ski trip. We were on our way home, 5-8 miles east of the Eisenhower tunnel when we saw it. It was a big bull, near the road, standing in some red willow, eating. Boy I would hate to hit one of them with a car.

Sure feels like early spring here.
I had the doctor check out some shoulder pain yesterday. Turns out I've got some early rotator cuff problems. I'll see PT in a few weeks for exercises to deal with it.

Me too. Before I retired, I advised the community college that serves the northeast quarter of Arizona. College vehicles collided with elk often enough that the damage had become a financial concern. I never heard of any human getting hurt in such a collision but it can certainly happen.

Good morning. Light skiff of snow here this morning. Band practice tonight. I have this weird little carbon fiber guitar made by Emerald called an Amicus. From the factory it's supposed to come with a custom string set in a high strung unison DGCFAD tuning. I bought mine used from Dave's Guitar in Wisconsin and I'm guessing they didn't know what to do with it so they shipped it to me with a new standard light gauge 12 string guitar set with the higher unison strings. It was in standard tuning A like a regular guitar at capo 5. So basically think of it as mando'ish sized very short scale 12 string guitar. At first I was kind of aggravated because I thought I'd have to chase down a custom string set and spend 14 hours restringing the little SOB. Turns out I like it just fine the way it is. Last week I started using it with the jam band on a few songs and it fits really well and sounds fantastic run through a tube amp. Atlantic City/Springsteen, Bang On The Drum/Rundgren, Cry Love/Hiatt. Lil' Blue

Hazy sun, unseasonably warm. Head cold persists, muddling about the house and napping today.

Well, the day will have to get better.
I arrived at my office to find it invaded by ants. Then the office computer system decided not to work properly. Patients insist on still coming in for flu symptoms, though, so the clinic was a mess until some IT egghead got the computers fixed.
I have sprayed the ants.
I hope there are no more surprises.

At home, drinking coffee, waiting for the furnace repair guy to fix his company's poor furnace installation from two years ago - a metal panel is falling off.
Shannon, I hope it improves for you.

Spraying only kills the ant you can see. Try this and youβll be rid of them everywhere. (Click)
