Heading to the gym. Glad that the crowd at the gym is starting to thin out. All of the new year "I am going to get in shape" crowd is fizzling. This happens every year at every gym I've belonged to. By March it will be back to our usual group with maybe a new face or two.
Then back to the horse therapy ranch this morning. Trying to spend as much time as I can there before our music shows begin. Bonny and I are back at it starting the last week of this month. We have another busy year ahead.
Only did one art show last year. Was hoping to do two this year but music shows take up a lot of time so we'll see.
Scott and I saw a show in downtown Milwaukee last weekend called the "Rat Pack." Three guys (Frank, Dino & Sammy) were wonderfully entertaining and very talented. If the show comes to your area, I highly recommend it.
Life is Good.
Have a great day everyone.

I'm facing the world of bad and worse choices. No wonder people retire. Staying alive is hard.
Don't let the old man in, indeed.

Good morning. It looks like we'll have a cool, windy day with intermittent showers, 40s-50s.
I'm reading the history of Christianity that Dub recommended. I'm at the point where Christianity and the Roman Empire merge.
Have as good a day as circumstances permit.

Good morning. Sunny and cool here, going to warm up a bit and turn into a nice weather day. Claire is going to do massages at a yoga retreat for the next two days so I'm going to be a bachelor until Saturday. Hope I stay out of trouble....... A few months back I posted about a sandhill crane I saw get hit by a car. I still see the bird around on my bike rides. Here's a pic of the bird I took yesterday. Hang in there tough guy.......

We get lots of Sandhill Cranes in our area. Watching, and hearing, huge flocks flying high is always interesting. On the ground, itβs amazing what huge birds they are. Just an hour south of us, they fill the fields as they stop over in their travels.
And John, I hope the choices turn out better than you fear.
Bright & sunny here-the weather, not me. I am still dull and dark.

Partly sunny, gonna be unseasonably warm.
I am set up on the dining room table doing desk work and standing by to tend to dogs while Dawn is on her Thursday meeting via Zoom in the next room.
Sandhill cranes are amazing birds. We get a few of them wandering through our urban area.
Earworm of the day is Norfolk Rhapsody No. 2 by Ralph Vaughan-Williams. Not a bad earworm.

Good morning, all.
No ants in the office today, at least so far.
John, whatever your choices are, you are in my prayers.

Rainy, gray and windy with temps stuck in the 40s all day, looks like. I'll take it. As I finished typing that sentence, the sun popped up, so there ya go.
My big excitement for the day will be picking up Swedish meatballs from Keys, my neighborhood cafe/bakery -- I learned only this week that they have them every Thursday, even though they're not on the menu.
Loves me some meatballs and noodles.

Good morning. 38F-52F Rain off and on. Simon and Riley are not happy. They went out this morning but cold rain is far from their favorite weather. Very grumbly kitties when they came back in. Just shop time today. English muffins with my bacon & scallion cream cheese this morning. 40 Days Until Spring.

We did not do our shopping and dinner out last night. Didn't find a break in the rain to do our walk until 4 PM. After that I was completely OK with driving in the rain, but Mr. H didn't want to go out in it. So it was a chili casserole at home. Not the same as the New Mexico style food he was craving. While on our walk the plumber called to say he could do the second part of the job this afternoon. I sincerely hope that he gets done a quickly as he says he can because we need to have an early dinner before I go to choir practice. But we can always find something simple to make and there are paper plates.
Got a reply from the drywall guy, but it's only a possible start date that doesn't work for us. He's more of a handyman and we don't expect a formal contract, but We'll at least need to know how much he charges per hour and approximately how long it will take him. It will be good to have a handyman if Mr. H will admit that there are other things he can't do anymore.

Morning. Got 4-5β of snow overnight. More on tap for this evening. Some help with the snow pack that was at 65% of normal last week.

Hopefully turning the corner on whatever virus I have. No fever this am, and I slept decently last night. Nasty little bug to have for a few days though. Nothing much on tap for today. Iβll take it easy, read and maybe even play the guitar a bit.

I'm facing the world of bad and worse choices. No wonder people retire. Staying alive is hard. Don't let the old man in, indeed. The trouble is, there isn't a happy ending when you finish the book, or the movie. The hero might be fine, the crisis resolved, but the there's another chapter, with more "life" to follow. It never actually ends, until it does. Even though you might not be in the best of places, I'm glad you are Staying Alive. And now I'm picturing you and your brothers, in the post-apocalyptic hellscape that is Northern Indiana, singing about it.

β¦ It will be good to have a handyman if Mr. H will admit that there are other things he can't do anymore. Iβm happy to say that, at age 81, there is still nothing that I canβt do anymore. However, there is a long and growing list of things I simply choose not to do. I still insist on doing the really hard and important things though, like sitting around playing a guitar.

I wish we had sandhill cranes pass through our area. I've seen them during Door County visits, and they are really aweome birds.
Speaking of awesome, that is the weather here. It might be windy, but it's 60 degrees and sun. Not bad for early February!

My thoughts are with you, John. I hope the potential choices become better soon.
I spent the morning at the house my son and DIL rented, and which was damaged during our ice and wind storm. The owner, her insurance company's adjuster, and her contractor were there. Everyone was friendly and nice. It appears that my son and DIL are going to buy the place and that the owner will carry the financing.
I hope the insurance company will be forthcoming re the repairs.

Sorry, I guess my post sounded pretty melodramatic. I'm really just struggling with the idea that I have to buy a $10K-$15K vehicle just to keep my job. It just doesn't sound smart. But it sounds even less smart to let go of a pretty good paying job -- even if I'll be making considerably less this year than I did last (last year I did as well as I did with the pottery in the boom years). Anyway, to top it off, when I was ready to close on the deal for the Honda van, the Postal Credit Union said, "Oh by the way, sorry man, but the underwriters will only finance a 25 year old van at 10% -- never mind that three days before they had quoted me 7%, knowing the very vehicle I was going to buy. They even had the VIN. So I felt a bit ... you know ... screwed. I'm thinking in another direction right now. The vans are more expensive. www.daltonpikemotorsllc.com/product-page/1996-nissan-rasheen-4x4-81k-miles-factory-rhd-usa-right-hand-drive-pov-postal
