Since this forum only came to be because of our shared interest in guitars, we should all be celebrating National Guitar Day today, February 11. I’m shocked, shocked, to find there has been no mention of this festive national observance in the daily thread today. It is indeed sad to see how low we have fallen. After extensive research (OK, one Google query) I’ve unearthed whole story of National Guitar Day and created a PDF document that I’m sure everyone here will treasure. Well, I'll be spending the afternoon playing guitar* with a bunch of mostly-old-farts at the brewery a few blocks down the street. And I don't even drink any beer. That should count for something.
* And 6-string banjo and Laptop Snare.

Oh yeah. My friend and band mate in HS had one then. And he’s still got it.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Mark. Plus, you may have inadvertently discovered some freelance work for any number of editors on this forum, because Casey Marshall could certainly use one. I am pleased to know Joe Gore was the impetus behind the commemoration. Any of you who might have watched the Tracey Chapman/Luke Combs duet of "Fast Car" on the Grammys (or YT) might be interested to know Mr. Gore was playing electric guitar stage right of Ms. Chapman, right next to multi-instrumentalist Larry Campbell playing violin.
