Hello from Brooklyn. It just started snowing to beat the band after a night of rain. Here are some of the local traffic cameras.
NYC public schools are closed today; classes are remote. The HR department at my job issued an optional work from home day today. You KNOW what I'll be doing.
Stay warm, snow bunnies.
On edit: Camera 2 focuses on the Grand Army Plaza, the major intersection a couple of blocks from us. So far, no major accumulations, but it's really coming down right now.

Good morning. Today we'll have roughly 50-70F with clear skies. Like Howard, I'm taking an optional work from home day. I give myself that option a lot.
My wife and I were married on this day 42 years ago. We've had some ups and downs but I'm lucky to have found someone who can put up with me. I got her a card. Flowers will be delivered this morning. We'll go out to dinner this evening at a friendly Italian restaurant.
Meanwhile, the participants in my weekly Zoom breakfast will be visiting a former participant whose health has declined. He doesn't get many visitors and we're trying to show him that he hasn't been forgotten.
Be of good cheer.

Good morning. Cold front came through last night, chilly day here in Florida. Had a good day yesterday with the Audubon folks and the scrub jays up at the greenway triangle in Ocala. After that I went on a bike ride in the afternoon and came across these folks, First time I've come across a flock of wild turkeys. I occasionally see a lone female on my ride but never a group until yesterday. There were 15 altogether. Good stuff. Today is a take care of business day, errands, projects and finances. Oh boy......... Have a great day folks.

Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday. Have a couple paczki with your morning coffee. Or one paczek, if you are watching your diet. Tomorrow begins the 40 day fast, so eat up.

Good morning, all.
The flood waters are receding, and the sun is out for the moment.
I've got Gillian Welch playing in the background in my office, so I can catch a few bars in between patients. It makes my mental health better.
Happy anniversary, Cornflake!

Morning all. Well the trip South has been put on hold as Nita came down with whatever that stomach thing was that I had. She is pretty miserable right now, so, assuming it follows the same path, I give her about five, mayby six days before she feels like traveling.
Today is a exciting day. Laundry, clean the bathroom, take the garbage out to the curb, you know, the glamor stuff of life.

I've been limiting my flintknapping activity for the past 6-7 years because it usually results in cuts on the fingers of my laft hand, which makes guitar playing painful and difficult. Last evening, Amazon delivered a pair if highly cut resistant gloves, that are also thin enough to give me the dexterity I need for knapping.
Haven't tried them yet, but I'm hoping they will provide the protection I need to bloodlessly knap obsidian. Obsidian is nasty to work with, capable of breaking with a edge that is one atom thick, 10 times sharper then a scalpel.
It'll be interesting.

No Fat Tuesday traditions here. I don't believe that I've ever had paczki. They do look a lot like the Bismarcks that we used to have when I was a kid in Montana. But wikipedia says that they're different. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P%C4%85czkiI'll be taking Mr. H for an eye injection this afternoon. Dinner will be leftover ham quiche from last night. Tomorrow we'll be grilling Cornish hens with a vermouth basting sauce. They have been placed in a small styrofoam cooler to thaw. To be served with Mexican gray squash, couscous, and a bottle of wine.

Congratulations on your anniversary, Don.
I have my third potential buyer scheduled to look at my motorcycle this afternoon. The two priors canceled. This one assures me he will be here and is driving down from Seattle (180 miles) to look at it. If he shows up, I suspect that he will buy it. I have two more lined up if he doesn't. Wordle 969 4/6

What is a paczek?
Happy anniversary Cornflake.
Ken, that does look like Mark and Joy's back yard. I had so many turkeys running through my back yard a few years ago that it looked like that ground was moving. I swear two hundred of them passed through my timber, right out the back window, running north. I stood there and watched until they were all gone. It was the oddest thing.
Beautiful day here weatherwise. So far it's been a great February.

That looks like a lot of fun, and shows exactly why flatpicking is more fun with two or more. I assume, Millring, that you were served some squirrel that day.
