Might be time for a short update. I drop in most every day and peruse the highlights but don't feel inspired to add my $0.02.
Busy this AM. Our shower decided to start leaking and pouring water. I was able to get the faucet from behind the shower without too much damage and hope I can get the replacement in and shower stall patched without too much trouble.
Tomorrow will be the inaugural practice for the band that I have decided to start. The core will be the bass player and drummer for the band I was in with Jerry before his stroke. I have added two more friends: one for guitar and one for guitar, harmonica, keyboards, & drums if needed.
It will be a lot different from the previous band as it's focus was Jerry's guitar. This one will be vocal driven with lots of ballads and songs that I like and that think I can sing OK. I've never been in one that was under my control so we will see how it goes.
The setlists will have a good dose of classic country; a small selection of classic rock and really oldies from the '60s; a lot of modern country from Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Whiskey Meyers, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Cody Jinks, etc.
I have started adding a few more R&B tunes from Amos Lee, Ray Montagne (sp?), Lukas Nelson. I don't know how those will work but if the redhead likes them, it will probably be OK.
Anyway, gotta get to work, already late.
later

Sold my motorcycle yesterday. Now there is a bit more room in the garage for the office furniture I will be moving there in a couple weeks. Anyone need a black leather loveseat? Come on down. Wordle 970 3/6

Your songs at Idiot Jam were great so I'm sure the band will be also.

The band sounds great, Alan. That will keep you busy. Busier than you already are, which sounds busy enough. I bet the public will keep you folks busy!

We love your vocals and can’t wait to hear a recording of your band. I’m sure it will be mighty fine. Best of luck with the shower.

February 14th, Iowa, temperature today will reach 50 degrees. What should I do? Go skiing, at Sundown mountain! I don't know a lot about skiing, but it does require snow. I'm in a meeting all day today and I'm already tired. Todd, Plenty of snow today at Sundown. it was cold enough so that they made snow last night. This morning we had fresh, freshly groomed snow. it did get a little soft this afternoon. very enjoyable day!

"We can still have nice things, but shelled out $2,700 for the plumber ". I got a bill from a plumber like that once and told him “I don’t make that kind of money and I’m a doctor”. He said. “Yeah I know, I used to be a doctor.”

A high school kid told me once that he wanted to grow up and do what I do because he could make a positive impact on lots of people's lives. I thought to myself that if you want to have a positive impact on a lot of people's lives, be a plumber or an electrician or something like that.

I thought to myself that if you want to have a positive impact on a lot of people's lives, be a plumber or an electrician or something like that. I think you should just accept the compliment. Nothing against electricians or plumbers. As a homeowner I rely on them regularly and have the utmost respect for their professions. As I do for your profession, and to be honest, with all who work to contribute in a positive manner. I get very upset when I hear disparaging remarks about cleaning people, maintenance people etc. I could not have done my job had they not done theirs. How could I have treated patients if the clinic didn't have working equipment and the place was unclean? Congratulations on the compliment. I am a bit envious. I have never had a patient tell me they wanted to grow up to be an Occupational Therapist. Oh wait a minute, I've only worked with old people. LOL!
