Good morning. I hope everyone has gotten over their chocolate highs from yesterday.
A good day to one and all.

Good morning. Going to be a nice day here in Spring Hill. Low 70's this afternoon. Spent some time yesterday figuring out my new camera. I've worked out about 5 percent of it. I did manage to get this picture of a bluebird perched on the phone lines across the street. It's a huge upgrade from phone camera. For what I want to do I probably don't need about 90 percent of what the camera can do but I'll continue to fiddle around. We've got vet appointments for the dogs on today's agenda for their annual vaccines. That's today's big event. Have good ones everyone.

Ken, I hope you enjoy the camera. You should know, though, that nothing makes a bird fly away faster than getting your camera out.
Good morning. Mid-February is more or less the unofficial beginning of spring here. Some trees are leafing out. We have daffodils and iris blooming in the yard. It's still chilly in the morning, though.
I'll have my usual Zoom social breakfast and grocery-shopping trip. Enjoy your day.

Quiet day today. Has anybody ever tried selling guitars on Facebook marketplace? How did it go?

We got seven inches of snow overnight, altering the landscape for the first time in weeks and weeks. It will melt next week, no doubt, as above-freezing temps return.
My plowing service cleared my driveway as I slumbered and the street crews have done their work, too, so it's not too burdensome a "weather event."

Good morning.
18F-30F sunny.
Winter is back, cats are sure it's DaWife's fault as she was the first one to let them out this morning. She opened the door, got a nasty stare, and they refused to go out. Neighbor Shawn is out there scraping ice/snow off his windshield. His car was warm when the snow fell, mine was cold so I may not have as much work. But I do have to go out later so I'll let it warm up real well before trying to clean it all off. Until then shop time.

Bonny and I are celebrating "Our Christmas" today. Every year we get together without our husbands and exchange gifts, drink some wine and watch a movie. I am hoping we can find "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" part 3. Not sure what our husbands have planned. Then again, we don't really care as long as they are out and we can have our "girl time."
It's been a good week. Valentine's Day yesterday and Christmas (again) today.
Have a great day, everyone!

Morning.
I will head out to a few stores later today and stock up on marked-down boxes Valentine's Day chocolates. Some of those big heart-shaped ones can be up to 50% off.
Then off to Warren and work with a couple kids in the musical. It's that time again. We're doing "The Little Mermaid". We'll fill the auditorium to the brim with families with young kids.

About 4" of wet snow fell between midnight and 6:00 AM. Still coming down. Daughter is sick, so I slipped and slid across town to bring eldest granddaughter to school.
Bracing for a couple hours of snowblowing. My neighbor to the south, who usually splits snowblowing duties, is on a Caribbean cruise, so I will do their driveway and a couple others - widowed or divorced women - they are not fragile females but it's the neighborly thing to do. An older neighbor suggested that I must really like snowblowing. Nothing could be further from the truth, but having a big snowblower makes a distasteful task much easier and makes snowstorms surviveable.

Marty, if you want to show your truck some love, don't let it idle too long from a cold start -- engines are not happy doing that. The kindest thing you can do to a drivetrain in such situations is just clear the windshield, get in, fire it up and drive off slowly and smoothly, letting everything warm up gradually as the fluids circulate.
End of sermonette.
My beloved classical music station, KSJN, is in the midst of its winter fundraising drive, with a goal of $575,000 in five days. Amazingly, with the help of corporate contribution matches and the like, they almost always reach their goal. It's one of the few 24-hour classical stations in the country, and almost all of those hours are staffed by live DJ's, so there are a lot of expenses. I'm on a perpetual $20/month plan, comes out of my bank account. A bargain, considering how much I listen.
They have some cool always-available streams, too: all choral, all guitar, all lullabies, etc., and I've never been pestered with emails or anything else. yourclassicalmpr.org

Morning. 5" of overnight snow and another 6" inbound beginning late afternoon. So....yay. Band practice cancelled last night due to VD. No garage so I let my truck warm up until we are both damn good and ready to go!

It's been a good week. Valentine's Day yesterday and Christmas (again) today. When I was married, I dreaded February -- Valentine's Day, spouse's birthday and our anniversary all within the same two weeks. How romantic can a man get?

I haven't tried selling guitars on Facebook Marketplace but I have sold lots of other stuff. Usually the response has been overwhelming. I sold some family bikes a couple of years ago and had a hundred or more calls, sold to the first callers and had people pissed because they insisted they were first and and I wouldn't hold it for them (I advised every subsequent caller that someone had gotten to it first). Similar response to baby stuff (twin stuff gets a premium). I sold some old axes and had vintage tool collectors fighting over them.
I imagine if your ads covered the Tucson and Phoenix areas you would get lots of responses.

When I was married, I dreaded February -- Valentine's Day, spouse's birthday and our anniversary all within the same two weeks. How romantic can a man get? That's called poor planning. I am so GUILTY of it too. I married Lar only four days before Christmas which meant the following year I got the combination Christmas and anniversary gift. One less present...I am sure of it. I did it again with Scott. We married only four days before my birthday. So now when we plan something it's to celebrate both my birthday and our anniversary. Again, I am cheated out of a present. Shit!

A nice morning, sun is shining, no snow.
No big plans for today, but I need to continue working on the 4 shadow boxes that I'll fill with arrow/spear oints, pipes, etc. They will be given away next Christmas. I decided I don't need 5 cigar boxes full of projectile points sitting around.
I will keep some for myself, and I can always make more.

Morning all. Nita is feeling better, we will let the next weather system roll through and probably head S next week. Discouvered a new GREAT bakery in Beaverton yesterday. It’s called Rosie Mae’s and it’s behind Buddie’s Sports Bar @ 185th and Farmington (this is for David in case he wants to check it out)
I had the best scone there I think I’ve ever had. Blueberry, peach, lemon. So freakin good! David, if you go, go early because by ten in the morning they were sold out of a lot of stuff.
Today we will watch Iowa state women’s basketball star Caitlin Clark break records on the court.

Even though I think I only saw about 2/3 of the first movie and missed the second, I caught on quickly. A very pleasant movie that probably hits all the right notes for long-time fans, but doesn't require deep knowledge of the first two to be enjoyable. So enjoy! Wine will probably only add to the fun.
