Good morning. A break from the last two days of rain, sunny and in the mid-40s F. I look forward with great anticipation to spring. Off to Cambridge in a little while to visit my cousin and see the place.
Stuff here is old.
And they drive on the left side of the road. Pedestrians be warned.
Have a pleasant day, everyone.

There's an old joke about the weather forecast in England--"rain with a chance of showers."
Good morning, good people. We'll have 50s-80. My only task for the day is to take a picture of myself. It's a tricky thing to do yourself. And the camera has no mercy. It faithfully records every wrinkle and flaw.
Keep on the sunny side.

Funeral day for my BIL, Tom. Getting grandkids home from schools around the country took a few days but everyone is here now. It’s a chilly but, so far, sunny day.

A little cooler today, mid 50s. That sounds like a good temperature for a hike, as long as I have a light jacket.
I'd like to go out for dinner tonight, but I don't know where I should go, guess I need to figure out what I'm hungry for.
Anyone here a Michael Perry fan? My daughter is ordering tickets to see (hear) him in April. He'll be at the Stoughton Opera house.

Good morning. 22F-35F mostly cloudy. Temps down just a little today before jumping up again until mid-next week. Shop time this morning to finish up on a early 60s Kay Galaxy, cool guitar. stock image 25 Days Until Spring.

Are you driving? It's a treat. Roundabouts aren't bad if you have someone to help navigate and count the exits, but on regular corners it's easy to drift into the wrong lane. And I kept hitting the curb (kerb) with the off-side tires (tyres.) Don't get me started about meeting a lorry on a one-lane road with high hedges.

Morning. The sun is out, but there is frost on the roofs. Heading to McMinville to drop off paperwork to the attorney who is setting up our trust. Then we will have breakfast at the highly rated Wildwood cafe.
After that will be checking the National weather service Zone Forcast for S OR- N Calif with an eye towards maybe heading South on Sunday. We like to stay in Mt Shasta the first day, and if the roads are clear until Monday morning, that will probably happen. One our out of Shasta and you are back down in the San Joaquin valley and out of the snow zone.

Mowrning.
Just heard on CNN that Indiana leads the nation in the production of popcorn, gourds, and ducks. No mention of squirrel. Still, pretty impressive.

About 8 more banker boxes of files, a small desk, two office chairs, two computers, a printer/scanner/fax machine, paper products, and office stuff, and I will be out of here. Hopefully, my tech-savvy son can arrange the computers for me at home.

... Hopefully, my tech-savvy son can arrange the computers for me at home. I have found that if you arrange your computers side by side it will help with tasks that involve two computers. It will take up more desk space, but that is a worthy sacrifice if it means not having to get up and run across to the other side of the room every few minutes. I have other home workstation tips, if you're interested. For instance, do you have a favorite color?

The arrangement here will be to connect my two office computers so that they still communicate with each other and they retain my scanner/printer settings. Also, they are currently hardwired to each other, my printer and to my modem, and we will either need to create an ethernet connection to my home modem (it is in another room) or they will need to be adapted to be wireless. Then he needs to set up both of my office computers and my existing home computer so that I can operate each independently using the same keyboard, mouse, and two monitors.
Thank you for the opportunity to get that off my chest.

There are studies that indicate that the playing of a fairly steady stream of trombone etudes through the computer's sound system decreased system crashes and communication glitches and increased user productivity.
At least, there must be. Several, I'm sure.

Thank you for the opportunity to get that off my chest. This sounds nuts. Get an eero mesh WiFi system (3 devices) and your troubles are over. Plug your printer into one of the units and you’re done. Your PCs will talk to each other, share files and your printer, and you’ll have strong, fast WiFi everywhere. Eero also offers excellent security. On edit: I also bought my own Internet cable modem, not just to avoid the small lease charge but to ensure a better device than the cable company provides. It also prevents the cable company from having access to your home network. Mine is an ARRIS SURFboard SB8200 and has been excellent so far (going on 4 years). I don’t let my cable modem be my WiFi router, I have the cheaper model with no router. I connect the eero base unit directly to the SURFboard. When we were having the house remodeled, I had the electricians install the cable hookup above the hat shelf in a guest closet along with a power outlet. So my cable modem and eero base unit sit on that closet shelf along with the remote backup drive that serves the whole house. I don’t ever have to even think about that stuff, let alone see it.

No, we have been using the Tube and overland rail to Cambridge today. I have been chasing after the two speed walkers with whom I live. They have no mercy. I just got out of a nice hot bath and feel better. We are flying home tomorrow morning and I am champing at the bit to get back to crazy New York.
I drove in the north in Cumbria 22 years ago when we visited my cousins there. Way less traffic, but we did encounter a truck (lorry) careening down the narrow lane toward us just as we found ourselves abreast of a high stone wall. As Bugs Bunny would say, "Yipe!" It was fun driving on the left side of the road with the stick shift under my left hand. We found no parking in Ulverston that time, and it made me sad because I really wanted to see the Laurel and Hardy Museum. But we did make it in one piece to Conniston and the estate of conservationist John Ruskin, where a mischievous border collie befriended us. That was then, this is now.

We drove a lot on both of our extended stays in the UK--the first time (1979) in a yellow rental Mini that was great fun, even with the inevitable wrong-side-driving interference. Though on both trips I realized that it was time to stop for the day when my USian driving instincts started overcoming my new UK skills and I wanted to switch lanes to avoid what my snake-brain said was oncoming traffic in the wrong lane.
Our 1989 vehicle we actually bought for our three-month stay in Northumberland, where C was teaching spring term--an Nth-hand Austin Allegro, which we much later learned has been named one of the worst UK cars ever. Ours did OK, though--only big failure was a broken alternator belt, the inconvenience of which was minimized by the AA membership we had been strongly advised to buy. Maybe the advisor noticed that we'd bought an Allegro. At the end of the term we sold the car on to an incoming faculty member. I can't recall whether we passed along the AA advice.

Dub, I will buy you a really good burger if you come by this weekend I would love to take you up on that. I’ve never been to Oregon. I did seen Oregon in concert a couple of times but didn’t really take a shine to them.
