Good morning, everyone. We'll have 50s-80, which is unusually warm, but it'll be cooling off as the week progresses.
This morning my lovely wife will be playing handbell solos during the primary church service, so I'll attend that one. Not much else to report. Have a good day.

I lost at Wordle -- got it in 4 again. But I got Connections. (yesterday was my worst game day ever, losing at both). I've always been impressed that these two are such perfect harmony singers. In fact, though I really don't care for AK's voice as the lead, I equally love her as a harmony singer. And though JT is the lead singer in his recordings, I've heard SO many examples of his spot-on harmonizing that it really stands out to me. And The Boxer can be scratch-picked and still sound great

PS: We're having our presidential preference primary. My wife and son and I have all voted. It took about two minutes because we got our ballots by mail and returned them by mail. Given that it's a perfunctory election with an outcome that's not in doubt, I'm glad it was easy.

Good morning from New York. Back in the USA. The temperatures in London were in the low to upper 40s the other day, and perhaps around 51° one afternoon. The temperature in Brooklyn this morning is 24°. Ugh. At least it seems to be sunny.
Dropped off at about 9:30 last night, woke up at 2:00 am and have been awake ever since. Some chores await: shopping, laundry, a bit of tax prep, and some financial planning if I still have some wind left in my sails. Or I may just call in jet-lagged tomorrow and take the day off, which remains to be seen.
We had a good time, although the wife and daughter tend to blaze quickly long, while I gaze about trying to take everything in, lagging way behind. This isn't always enjoyable for me. We saw quite a few sights, had dinner with a former coworker who has been living there for the past 8 years, and got to spend some time with my younger cousin, who is studying at Magdalene (pronounced "maudlin") College at Cambridge. He is aiming at law school next year with the possibility of becoming a solicitor (perhaps) and has already secured a junior position at a firm while he studies. It was good to see him grown, mature, charming. Cambridge is a lovely, if bustling, university town, full of some VERY old buildings, by our standards (at least 14th century at one or two of the colleges). Photos later when I can upload them.
It was good to get away for a week and see from what it was our finding fathers wanted to separate. I think I get it. It's good to be home.

Good morning.
32F-47F mostly sunny.
Having breakfast with our girls before grocery shopping. After that maybe shop time or we'll go out looking for a lamp for my new desk. She'll probably tell me to go putter in my shop and order a lamp on Amazon.

Up, not quire enough sleep, but whatever. Heading south today, hope to be on the road by 9:30 at the latest, still have a few things to pack up. If all goes as planned, we will be in Mt Shasta by this evening.

Busy past few days dealing with funeral and family. Today should be quiet. I tend to be crazier than usual under these circumstances. Thank God Barb helps me cope without hitting me with a skillet. I am sure she is tempted.
Sunny & 60 today.

Given that it's a perfunctory election with an outcome that's not in doubt, I'm glad it was easy. We received a primary ballot in the mail the other day that was intended for our neighbor across the street. So I stopped over to give it to him thinking he'd be happy to get it. He called it junk mail.

Then he should never bitch about the government.

Good morning. Slept in late this morning for the first time in a long time. Felt good. Shopping and music on the docket for today. Had some painted buntings stop by the bird feeders yesterday. The male was a bit shy hanging out in the bushes but the female was out and about. Have a great day.

Another summer day here. Breakfast over, laundry almost done drying, coffee still being consumed. I've already been to Vinton this morning, I needed some hardware to modify the tablet holder I use when playing music. I've got the mod half completed, need another hour to finish.
62 degrees this afternoon, I'll be hiking on the Cedar Valley Nature Trail. Maybe I'll see my favorite owl.

But for the wing bars, she could nearly pass for a female goldfinch. Ok, a pretty big but. They do share size a color and fall in that "subtle beauty" category, along with the female cardinal.

I’m setting records for laziness. Feels mostly good, but every now and then a bit of guilt slips in.

I had planned a morning that was to start at Trader Joe's, but first I got the car washed and fueled, then I filled my coffee mug, then I motored to Holman's Table for eggs/link sausage/hashbrowns/salad/Bloody Mary while watching bizjets arrive and depart, then I scooted over to Pollo Campero for takeout fried chicken, slaw and mac & cheese (supper tonight). Then I went home, pulled in the driveway, slapped my forehead -- Trader Joe's!
Oh, well, I didn't need anything urgently.
Soon comes the Mexico Open, where a rookie named Jake Knapp is tearing up the field, played a near-perfect round yesterday.
I'm idly shopping for new summer tires -- the Nissan dealer that treated me so well yesterday has a buy-three-get-one-free deal going on, with "free" mounting and balancing. Leaning toward Cooper Touring tires, like that brand, made in USA.
I never did get my winter tires/wheels mounted, which appears to have been the right move this year.

Don’t forget the front-end alignment. They did that at the factory when they built it.

My amazing son helped me move my computers and printer home, then hooked them all up, while also upgrading our home network. So now all 3 computers are controlled by the same keyboard and mouse and all can be brought up on one or both monitors. It all works!!! And I am especially happy that I am not shoveling hundreds of dollars to Comcast/xfinity every month anymore.

Hmmm. I’m paying Comcast way too much for cable, wifi, and voip. Well, we made it to Mt Shasta, where we stay in a dated but comfortable old motor inn, called the Strawberry Valley Inn. We get a mini suite with a king size bed for only 89 bucks, weeknights. Waffle breakfast is included, and a wine tasting starts at 5:00. For these parts it’s a screaming deal, our motel tomorrow night will be just N of $200.00, without wine or breakfast. Mt Shasta this afternoon.
