Happy birthday to my old high school pal, Neil. He has forged a career out of being an entertainer, and apparently does a great Neil Diamond show.
72 years old today and still cranking out the hits.
Like London the other day, I am still in a fog.
Like London the other day, chance of showers in New York, but temps will hit 61°. Have a pleasant day, all.

Good morning. We'll have about 60-75. Pleasant. The iris are peaking,
I need to do as much work in the back yard as I can. The removal of four old trees in the past year turned a large shaded area into a large sunny one. The plants that grew below the trees can't take the direct sun they now receive. I've been either transplanting those shrubs or removing them. It's shovel work and I'm too old for it. But I'm not interested in seeing an expanse of dead and dying plants when I walk through that area. Putting in different plants that do well in the new environment will be the easy part, once I get that far.
I've surmounted the day's Wordle hurdle.

Most of my classmates went on to successful careers in blue collar crime. A couple had less successful careers and are boarding in state funded facilities.
55° right now, heading to 72°, and dropping to 30° tonight. Storms love that kind of forecast. It looks to be an interesting Midwestern weather day. Might be a keep your head down kind of afternoon. What month is this again?

One more day of summer, then a day or 2 of winter again.
Music practice this afternoon, something I look forward to every week.
Today is my oldest grandson's birthday, it's really hard to believe he's 24 years old.

Good morning. It's a nice sunny day here in Florida. Dax the dog has a vet appointment for shots. After that who knows? Have a great day.

Drywall guy is supposed to start this morning and should arrive any minute now. I'm going to be very unhappy if he doesn't come until later. We got up at 6:00 AM to finish breakfast and move things out of the way before his arrival. Yesterday we moved some stuff from the garage to the atrium so he can store some sheets of drywall in the garage in case of rain.
Church book discussion on Zoom at noon. We do plan to participate, but that depends on what's going on in the house at that time.

Springlike day today, thunderstorms tonight, snow tomorrow.
Already had an urban adventure bike ride. Dropped the van off for service on a main thoroughfare, zig-zagged through auto dealerships and a hilly residential neighborhood with a long downhill toward the end. Said downhill will be a long uphill when I retrieve the van this afternoon. Might cycle over and vote in the primary election, symbolic at best.

Two hours later and a job I started yesterday is done and ready to be picked up.
A lower end Washburn D size. Saddle slot was slightly misplaced, nut fitted very poorly, bridge pins too small for the pin holes and bottom feeder Ping tuners. I recut the saddle slot and made a new intonated saddle to correct intonation and refitted the nut so it actually sat against the end of the fingerboard. I put on a decent set of Gotoh SG tuners to replace the cheap Ping's that were falling apart. Lastly a new set of pins that fit the pin holes. Now you can get it to be in tune in first position, up the neck and it will be in tune when you change keys.

Yep, we gots us a little blizzard up here. Schools closed, band practice cancelled, cat pissed. It's nice in the house, though.

I keep forgetting that I have a Jamaican restaurant less than a mile away, perhaps because it's pretty much takeout-only. But that's OK, I think with colder weather coming on it's time for some jerk chicken.

Time for some Paxlovid for me. It's nice to put a label on how crappy I'm feeling.

Wet and gray outside. Still transitioning from office building to home. Work lately has been to remind arbitrators, process servers, and clients to simply do their jobs. Get to work, dammit!

A couple more hours in the shop and I have a set of frets in an old Yamaha ready to trim, level and dress. That will be tomorrow as I have already had a very productive day and it's almost nap time.

Storm warnings rolling in. It was 74 today & will be 30 tonight. Tornado watches, baseball sized hail warnings, and lots of lightning predicted. Fun times.

I represented an insurance agency that catered to high-end RV and Travel Trailer owners. One of the companies it represented was teetering, and after some big hail storms in Texas, Oklahoma, or both, the damage claims pushed the company into bankruptcy. So how do you protect your stuff from baseball size and larger hail?

Use the garage, after you remove everything you've stored there.
