Good morning Soundholers. Is everyone in the Chicago area OK? Please check in...
I have not been able to catch up with the jet lag incurred from last weekend's flight. Proposing to take a sick/personal day today and try to get a few extra winks and also get some personal work done that is impossible to do from my office. We work in the equivalent of a human dairy barn where each employee has a three-foot wide spot at the trough, separated by 4-foot-high walls. I think the narrow aisles between are in direct defiance of the city fire codes. Anyway, there is no privacy whatsoever and I need to make some phone calls today and visit a couple of websites for personal biz.
On this day:
And here we are.

Good morning, everyone. Looks like 50s-70s here. Today's agenda includes stopping by a farmer's market for some tomatoes and having lunch with a few friends. This evening I'm going to a jam, just to listen this time. I want to figure out if I could sit in with my hammered dulcimer.
Smile though your heart is breaking. Or not.

Good morning. Sunny and cool here in Spring Hill. I've got my annual doctor checkup this afternoon as well as shopping for new clothes for our nieces wedding that we're going to next week in Houston. Have a great day everyone.

Supposed to hit 68 today with a 70% chance of showers. We're up early again to prepare for the drywall guy (drywaller? drywallist?). He's supposed to show up at 8:30 this morning and we first need to move some things around in the garage and pull the pickup out. He didn't show until 9:30 yesterday morning, but he did stay until 6:30 PM and completely finished inside the house. We managed to squeeze in our walk while he left for lunch. But it was mostly a wasted day for us and we had a very late dinner.
At least today should be less disruptive. And the work that he did looks beautiful.

The sky was alive with lightning last night but the storms all went north of us. It headed across the lake and into MI and now it’s on the way to NY. Lots of trees down in northwestern suburbs and a couple twisters touched down. It was 74 yesterday. Right now it’s 32 with wind and snow flurries. Can we say CRAZY!?

8 degrees here this morning with a very little trace of snow on the edge of the driveway. I heard some thunder last evening but no storm, just wind, wind that went on most of the night.

It was 65 degrees yesterday. This morning it's down to 7. We only got a dusting of the snow that buried epaul. We'll spend the day driving to Chicago, just to check out the weather down there.

It’s blustery, in the 30s with snow flurries, overcast skies, and there are trees down in the northwest suburbs. Other than that, it’s a lovely day as long as you don’t drink the water. Lead pipes, you know.

Cold and windy. We had an average thunderstorm for about 30 minutes around midnight, other than that it was the storm that didn't happen.
Off to ransom the van from the repair shop. Stop by and I will show off the new radiator. It's an expensive luxury.

Morning all. We arrived in Palm Desert about 3:00 pm yesterday. Surprisingly, there was virtually no traffic tie ups on either the 210 or the 10. Pretty much clear sailing all the way, at least until we got to the condo and found the deadbolt stuck and we could not get in. A call to a locksmith, and $140.00 later, we gained entrance. We have not been here for a year and the place is coated with a fine layer of sand and dust everywhere. Lots to do to get the place cleaned up. Vespa battery was dead so that is on a charger. Hopefully I won’t need a new one. High today forcast to be 77-78. Yay! Shorts weather. Might get a bike ride in after we get the place cleaned up. Maybe. The pool also beckons, but work to do first.

Good morning. 4F-20F sunny Temps have cooled off quite a bit since yesterday but will be back up to record highs tomorrow. I had a very productive day in the shop yesterday and should have today also. I'm not at my bench for 10 hours with a long lunch break anymore, nor should I be. This time 3 years ago I could not even walk down to my shop and a year ago couldn't stand more than an hour or so before I was ready to collapse. My shop is my Happy Place and 4 hours a day is enough to fulfill my creativity needs. I've worked very hard to get to this point. I also have plenty of things to do down there. 20 Days Until Spring.

Forecasters really blew it, saying 100% chance of snow overnight, with an inch or two predicted, and we got a mere dusting. Glad they were wrong. Lunch today will be a new (to me) item from TJ's:

Linda and I have tickets to a AZ Diamondbacks spring training game. The Goodyear ballpark is 15 mins from the house, so it's quite convenient.

Been there.

Morning.
A quick return of winter. 6" of snow sculpted into wind-swept drifts; a three-foot deep example of which covers most of my front sidewalk, something Chomper and I will have to attend to before the mail carrier arrives. (the drift she had to wade through yesterday during the height of the storm (40 mph wind-driven horizontal snow). Not a good day to be delivering mail.
They call these events "Whiplash" blizzards, a rapid turn from pleasant to deadly (55 degrees to -5; no wind, no snow to 50 mph winds with mounting drifts of blowing snow and zero visibility in open country. In days of yore, they were deadly surprises blasting out of the north burying the clear blue with blinding snow and deadly cold. Now, all knew this was coming a couple days ahead of time and schools were closed with services girded and at the ready.

I had to have the radiator in my '63 Falcon rodded out. Apparently buying a car from a little old lady who only drove about 3K miles a year meant that the accumulated gunk only caused problems when attempting to drive for extended periods at highway speeds.
