Good morning. It's Texas Independence Day. The lessons learned in elementary school stay with us.
I'm considering taking down our outdoor Christmas lights today. But maybe my subpar result in Wordle is an omen and I should stay off ladders.
Enjoy your day.

Very foggy this morning. It looks like we are in the center of a cloud. 95% humidity & 100% foggigity. Enjoy a lazy Saturday if you can.

Good morning.
34F-60F partly cloudy.
Up a little early for a Saturday due to cats wanting out. They know it's somewhat warm out there.
Busy shop morning. The Yamaha will be picked up and one of my rebuilds also.
Since it will be rather nice this afternoon we will do some shopping and find a place for lunch.

Good point, Marty. (The answer is that the desert sun destroys plastics that are exposed to it for long periods.)

We decided to rip out and replace all the carpeting in our house (which is just the bedrooms). So today they come by to measure the rooms so we can figure out what it'll cost us to do it. But, we need the installers to agree to move the big pieces of furniture. Since we can't do it, if they won't, we'll have to search for installers who'll do it.

They usually put slides on the legs of furniture and itβs amazing how easily they can move things.

Morning, up and coffee. Wind has not hit yet. Fingers crossed it wonβt be as bad as the forcast. Nothing planned today.

A quiet, sunny morning.
No plans until this evening when I've been invited for dinner at friend's house. Following dinner we'll be going to CSPS (Czech-Slovak Protective Society), to see the Cedar County Cobras performance.

We had a nice gig in New London last night. Just did it as a duo and it worked out well. The Little Theater Auditorium is a great place with an art deco bar serving all sorts of exotic cocktails.

Morning!
I'm in a bit of a quandary. Is 10:30 too early for a nap?

Morning! I'm in a bit of a quandary. Is 10:30 too early for a nap? Simon and Riley say that's a normal mid-morning nap, to be followed by a after lunch nap.

Good afternoon. Got up early and went on a biking and birding expedition with the Audubon folks along the Withlacoochee State trail. The main object was to see swallow tailed kites. Not my photo, we did see several, one gorgeous flyover, but I couldn't convince the birds to sit still for a photo so I glommed this one off the internet. I spotted this hermit thrush so that was my big contribution to the endeavor. Now all I've got to do is figure out what kind of bird this is.......... Be well, be happy.

This exchange from the House interrogation of young Biden appeared on Facebook, and I had to check to make sure it wasn't copped from The Onion. It's real, though. It starts on p. 134 of the transcript as published by the WaPo. I wonder if any other Democrats had similar fun at the hearing. Mr. Swalwell. Any time your father was in government, prior to the Presidency or before, did he ever operate a hotel? The Witness. No, he has never operated a hotel. Mr. Swalwell. So he's never operated a hotel where foreign nationals spent millions at that hotel while he was in office? The Witness. No, he has not. Mr. Swalwell. Did your father ever employ in the Oval Office any direct family member to also work in the Oval Office? The Witness. My father has never employed any direct family members, to my knowledge. Mr. Swalwell. While your father was President, did anyone in the family receive trademarks from China? The Witness. No. Mr. Swalwell. As President and the leader of the party, has your father ever tried to install as the chairperson of the party a daughter-in-law or anyone else in the family? The Witness. No. And I don't think that anyone in my family would be crazy enough to want to be the chairperson of the DNC. Mr. Swalwell. Has your father ever in his time as an adult been fined $35515 million by any State that he worked in? The Witness. No, he has not, thank God. Mr. Swalwell. Anyone in your family ever strike a multibillion dollar deal with the Saudi Government while your father was in office? The Witness. No. Mr. Swalwell. That's all I've got. The Witness. Thank you. www.washingtonpost.com/documents/2317b385-f967-42d6-ae32-79dedcbbef1b.pdf?itid=lk_inline_manual_3

I run into a LOT of creative spelling of names on my routes. There's a young woman whose parents decided that "Jasmine" wasn't as cool as "Jazzmine"
Workin' in a Jazzmine Gettin' down, down, down Workin' in a Jazzmine HUH! About to get down
Given the choice of working in a coal mine, the salt mines, or a jazzmine, I pick the jazzmine hands down.
I'm seeing a steps-down from the sidewalk cellar music club in the heart of a big city. Jazzmine.

Now all I've got to do is figure out what kind of bird this is.......... Iβll give you a hint, itβs Indianaβs state bird. When we were getting ready to get on the Liberty Island ferry, there was a crowd of five or so people taking pictures of a squirrel. Just doing squirrel things; nothing unusual. I then realized that maybe seeing squirrels isn't an everyday experience for everyone.

Nice Saturday shop today. We went to Obb's for a nice comfort food lunch and then shopping at Target. I really needed new jeans as my 34" are getting very worn and I won't fit the 31" jeans we got after I got out of the hospital in 2020, I was skin and bones thin. With my current diet I've a very good chance of wearing out these 34" also. We bought a few other household items and I got DaWife a new NES Switch game. I know she likes it because I can hear her cursing loudly out in the living room.
