Good morning. Chance of showers here today. I'll have my Zoom social breakfast and then go shopping for food. No complaints. Enjoy your day.

Spent the morning at Rush Hospital having a pre-op exam. Results were on MyChart before I got home. Yesterday evening I won a boutique Tony Rice memorial pick on FB in what seems to have been record time by posting the correct “guess”. Today I am going to fool around with the reverb pedal I got and try not to dwell on surgery/recovery.

Home again, home again, jiggety jig. Welcome back -- you missed a light-plane crash a couple miles from your home that sadly killed two guys.

Ankle fusion on my screwed up ankle. Bone removal, bone grafts, etc. Non-weight bearing cast for 6 weeks & non-weight bearing boot for 2 more. I will be using a knee scooter and wheelchair for a while. Fun times.

Good morning, all.
It is bright and sunny and headed for 75 degrees today. This is the first sunny day we have had in a while. It won't last long, as heavy rains are forecast to move in tomorrow night and Saturday. Possible severe weather, too. Typical late winter in Alabama.
LJ, I hope everything goes according to plan. We are all in your corner.

Up and at em. Yesterday was not my day. First off, fir the last few years our front door handle has been fiddly, constantly be needing to be jiggled to make the beveled slider thing that fits into the door jamb extend after it retracts. Anyway, I replaced the door handle yesterday with a new Schlage unit and guess what? The new unit dies the same damn thing. So the problem must be with the door, not the handle.
Then, while on my way to Lowe’s for stuff, the turn signals, windshield wipers, and buttons on the steering wheel of my truck all stopped working. WTF.? After searching the web, I found this happens on some Fords, and it’s either the clock spring, or the steering control, center module. Easily repaired, by 1 removing the steering wheel, removing the airbag, dismantling 4700 electrical connections, and a bunch of plastic bits, replacing the SCCM, reprogramming the SCCM, replacing all the other crap, remounting the steering wheel. Easy peasy. I have a appointment at Ford tomorrow. I hope it doesn’t cost more than a thousand bucks. Maybe I’ll start a go fund me.
The Vespa is running good.

Good morning.
33F-49F mostly cloudy.
Spent most of yesterday in bed but so far feeling better today. I think it was new medication related and I won't take that med until this evening after dinner instead of before breakfast.
I might finish up the Stella today and choose 3 more guitars to work on. I think one of them will be a Paracho, Mexico made classical with a 778mm scale length. Way too long for any practical use as a guitar so I'll make it a nylon string baritone. I have two of these, one in Cedar/Pine the other is possibly Palo Escrito/Pine. Paracho guitars rarely use Spruce or any imported woods, only domestic woods such as Cocobolo or Palo Escrito for fingerboard and bridges. Cocobolo and Palo Escrito are true rosewoods. Cocobolo is beautiful but not real stable and heavy. Palo Escrito is quite stable and on the lighter side weight wise but Mexico rarely exports it. I would chose it for bridge replacements if it was available.
12 Days Until Spring.

Rain in today's forecast. We will attempt to get our walk done before that happens, but will at least wait until things warm up from the low of 47. Choir practice tonight. Not much going on in between.
Yesterday I took Mr. H to a routine medical appointment. From there we went for COVID shots and groceries. Home to put groceries away, then out for pizza. Not very good pizza, but lots of interesting draft beers. A 14 inch pizza to share and one beer each came to $50 with tip. Then we came home and watched the 1950s movie, "King Solomon's Mines." Mostly a showcase for African scenery, animals, and various tribes. Deborah Kerr screamed and fell and fainted a lot. She also had an amazing ability to attract spiders, snakes, and big cats that didn't bother with anyone else.

She ain't no kid In a career that spans more than four decades, Flores has proven to be a musical chameleon. She’s jumped feet first into punk rock (with her ’70-era band, the Screaming Sirens), country of both the Bakersfield and Nashville varieties, the Texas singer/songwriter scene, alt-country, straight-up rock and rockabilly. So much so the latter that her onstage moniker for years was “The Rockabilly Filly.” But always and throughout, she has been the Chick with the Pick.

Sunny skies directly above and a chilly 34F. My wife's planned trip to the beach is being delayed by lost car keys. I don't need no stinkin' keys - I work from home.
LJ, best of luck with the surgery. Mike, best of luck with the door and car repair.

She really knows her shit, guitar-wise. Not one of those, "I play what feels right" kind of players like Paul McCartney (who obviously has some preferences) - more along the lines of someone who knows how to describe technically how to really dial in the setup she prefers. Oh yeah, she can play and sing really well, too. She kept a classroom full of guys mightily impressed over an hour and a half or so of lecture/discussion/Q&A/playing.

I knocked over a water glass at the lunch table and launched into "There Stands the Glass" (only I changed it to "There Went the Glass"). My wife was not familiar with the tune, despite its universality. After all, everyone knows Webb Pierce, right?
