Good morning. Howard must be sleeping late. It'll approach 80 degrees here today. I plan to skip church and make an early trip to the Desert Botanical Garden. Some friends invited us to lunch. After that I'll take another crack at smoking a chicken, inspired by David's comments.
With all the press attention devoted to the age of the presidential candidates, I realized that I'm only four years younger than one of them and eight years younger than the other. That made me feel decrepit.
All's well. Enjoy your day.

I guess I was. I don't care for this DST thing. But I am awake now, and furiously tinkering with technology.
You're doing great, Don. Don't sweat the numbers.
Almost finished with our budgeting tally so we can plan our monthly finances for the near future. Just need to add everything up, look at the total compared to post-retirement income, and then have a stiff drink.

I hadn't realized this was time-change day. We don't do it. Now we're in synch with California and two hours behind the central zone.

Off to the Amazon (voluntarily!). Got Wordle in 2 and got Connections (even figured out what all four groups were).

Good morning.
21F-49F sunny.
WTF? I wanna go back to bed goddamit. Daylight savings SUCKS! Next Sunday we will appreciate it but not this Sunday.
Other than bitching about DST we will have our normal Sunday.
9 Days Until Spring. But the 10 day forecast says it's pretty much here already.

I was shocked and saddened this morning to run across this language abomination, not once but twice in an AP motorsport story:
Penske received support from Chip Ganassi, his top rival in the series. Ganassi outpointed that Penske took ownership of IndyCar and IMS just two months before the COVID-19 shutdown and he kept the series afloat and continued to pay teams their bonus money even as races were being held without spectators.
Seems to me that Caitlin Clark outpoints her rivals, but mere mortals "point out."

Cold and windy with a dusting of snow. Didn't sleep well and disoriented with daylight saving time.
As of 5:00 this afternoon Dawn and I will be married 40 years. (March 10, 1984 was a similarly cold and windy day) Hard to believe I am that old, and so many years have passed, but there are a young man and a young woman in their 30s that keep stopping by the house with their daughters so I guess it must be true. Celebrated last night with dinner at an amazing Indian restaurant, will celebrate further with a trip to West Virginia in the spring.

Cold, sunny, and windy. Sounds like the names of personal injury attorneys. I slept fine but the lost hour does bother me. Where do they put it and how do they manage to give it back later? And shouldn’t we get interest on it? Maybe an extra 15-20 minutes added on to the savings? WAFFLES! I’m happy about that, anyway.

Good morning. Outdoor wedding and reception yesterday. It was COLD. Other than that it was a great party. Going to spend some time today checking out Houston.
Have a great day.

34 degrees this morning, a brisk breeze from the NW, the lake looks very cold and uninviting.
We're going to head out to St Vincent DePauls in a bit to see what treasures we might find. About 10 years ago i bought a Yamaha Tele there for $12.50.
Grilling out this afternoon, brat patties, steak and pork chops.

Sad news. I just got word that the last of my father's first cousins, Alain Gielbert, died early this morning, in Florida. He was 84. Radiation treatment for a cancer damaged his lungs, and he was unable to breathe without being on oxygen; his condition deteriorated over the last three weeks.
A WWII survivor who was raised in Paris, he worked for a couple of major labels in the recording industry in the 1960s and 1970s.
He was a good guy, family man, great-grandfather, generous to a fault.

Sorry to hear that Howard.
I’m up. DST doesn’t reall affect me other than it took me twenty minutes to reset the time on my stupid Cassio watch. But soon we will dive into pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon. And Nita’s Bloody Mary. It’s a tough job but somebody has to do it. Gonna be around 80° here today.

Most of the clocks we use just reset themselves, either through the Net or via the atomic clock signal from Colorado. The kitchen stove and microwave are exceptions but we don’t really look there to see the time of day.
