Good morning. Ken is inspiring me to go looking for birds. Tomorrow I'll go to a spot that offers a fair number. The best place around is on my list for an outing in the near future.
This morning I'll finish assembling a new patio table to replace the one that was wrecked by high winds a couple of months back. Assembling anything is a challenge for me.
All's well. Have a good day.

Good morning.
30F-51F mostly cloudy.
Saturday shop and I think DaWife wants to go to Sam's Club today.
Poor Riley has been favoring his right paw since yesterday. Looks like he stepped on something sharp and we're cleaning and keeping an eye on it.
Todd is getting better, LJ will have a period of pain but he'll get better. The rest of you try to stay healthy, I can't take more than a couple of us down at once.

Morning all. Leg cramps woke me up. That always happens the night after a music gig. Something about the way I stand and rock back and forth while playing and singing that strains my calf muscles in an unusual way. Then in the middle of the night they tighten up like knots and I have to jump out of bed and walk them off. Happened 3 times last night. I will need a nap later for sure.
Gig went well. And I got to see Amanajoe and his wife Sue, as they are in town to help with her mother. Nice that Joe and Sue have been friendly supporters of my musical outings. Seems like when I get a few-and-far-between gig, it coincidently coincides with a time that they are in town for family stuff.
Have a good day, people.

Cloudy, chilly, breezy here. After I'm fully coffeed, I'll launch my weekly Circle O' Errands, with stops today at H&R Broke, Blaze Credit Union, Xfiniti store and Mi-Sant for a breakfast croissant -- I like the one with egg, cheese and Vietnamese ham, but I see they offer Spam as an option, might have to try that. They make amazing croissants, and some funky dragon baguettes, as well. Then it's off to the East Side for a haircut/beard trim from my favorite 83-year-old Italian barber and lastly a Trader Joe's run for oh so many things. Whew!

Good morning, folks. Went to the movies with daughter to see "Dune Part Two" yesterday. It was epic and incredible looking; the soundtrack is aggressive, brutal and powerful, yet the story line is kind of thin. And Javier Bardem was more comical than serious, which I don't think was intentional. Don't tell my daughter—she is currently obsessed with the film. It was good bonding time, if nothing else.
Off to the vet (my cousin) in a little while, for Bianca's semiannual checkup.

Good morning. We had an eventful open mic last night at the Brickside, in Vinton.
Right after our first trip to the mics, (Phil and I performed together), a gentleman stopped to talk to me. I knew he looked and sounded vaguely familiar, but couldn't think of who he was.
Turns out he was with a group of us that spent a lot of time camping at a local lake - in the summer of 1968!
I don't think we had crossed paths since then. He was there (open mic) to support one of the other participants, heard me singing and recognized me.

Leg cramps suck. Not as badly as LJs or Todd’s deal, but still.
Cold in the desert. It rained last night, which is always a surprise for here, and irs 45° out right now. Should hit at least 70 today, maybe a bit warmer. Big plans for the day include watching the Players golf thing on the Telly, and a bike ride.

Regarding birds, the Merlin app tells me the bird I hear through the open bedroom window is a Northern Cardinal.

I made cranberry scones for breakfast. Since we can't get clotted cream here, we substitute whipped cream cheese. I completed reviewing our taxes with Mr. H yesterday and we're ready to submit but are waiting since we owe a lot. I've planned and booked a cruise along the west coast for next year. Final payment for the Iceland cruise this summer is due in early April. It's only money. Today I'm working on our estimated taxes for this year. It's only more money. I think I'd better take a look at moving some dollars to cover all of these things coming up at once.
Meanwhile, sunny weather today but only expected to reach 66. I will be making time for music no matter what else comes up.

Sunny day.
I went to the section finals last night. Glad I rousted myself out. Great game, marvelous athletes... dunks, alley oops, great passes, 3pt bombs. The skill level just keeps increasing. When I was in school, only the rare 6' 6" guy would do a simple, two-hand dunk while standing under the basket, now 5' 10" kids (if you can still find one that short) come flying down the lane doing wheelhouse slams.

The Folk Society's Approximately St. Patrick's Day concert was a Quebec-Irish trio, Grosse Isle, and they played two first-rate sets to a full house. Nice people, too--traveling with the younger pair's two kids (11 and 13, I think). They're playing tonight at the Cedar before heading to Iowa for a St. Patrick's Day concert (Cafe Paradiso in Fairfield) and a residency in Davenport (Quad Cities Visiting Artists Series, 4/18-23). Worth a drive to hear them.

Back from losing several pounds of hair and beard at Parkway Barbers and Hairstylists, with the happy news that George, my favorite barber ever, has a girlfriend! George was widowed about three years ago, and now, at 83, is clearly giddy about having a special someone again. Even better is where they met -- at a volunteer nonprofit operation that supplies needy people with clothing and other necessities. This is the shop's staff -- George is second from left. His hair is always full and perfect, natch.
