Still one of the greatest country rock bands in the last 58 years.
So good.

I was on leave in London at the time they were there on tour when they taped this performance at "The Old Grey Whistle Stop". I wasn't at that show, but I did catch them at the Hammersmith Odeon. Great stuff.

I saw that group with her, I saw the group in which Frank Reckard played lead, and I saw another grouping where the backup band was basically New Grass Revival, who opened the show, and a final show with the Nash Ramblers. Sam Bush, Roy Huskey jr., and others I forget were the Ramblers. I saw an interview with Albert Lee who said the lead part ending the song on the studio version of Luxury Liner was bits and pieces from several takes that the engineer put together. He said nobody, including him, could play it like the studio version because it had so many pieced together parts.

I was super-broke when Luxury Liner came out. Caught a little drywall job in Talequah OK, 3 days work, got paid, ate steak and bought a Full Moon in a Ten Cent Town. That opening track knocked my socks off.

Rodney Crowell on acoustic, Albert Lee on electric, who's on steel?

Hank DeVito, I think; Glen D. Hardin on piano, John Ware on drums.
Al Perkins was the steel guitarist in the Nash Ramblers. Not to be confused with Pinetop Perkins.
John Randall Stewart was the acoustic guitarist in the Nash Ramblers, and Larry Atamanuik was the drummer.

Saw them in Portland Maine on a date with my Dad’s nurse. It was odd going out on a date set up by my dad. But it ended up being spectacular between Emmy and the nurse. What they say about French Canadian nurses is true.

What they say about French Canadian nurses is true. I don’t recall ever hearing anyone say anything at all about French Canadian nurses. What is it “ they” say?

Can’t say without getting in trouble. But it’s pretty good if you’re dating one.

I loved her and the Hot Band then, still love them now. My first album I believe was from the early '80's, I'm sure, Last Date.

He is a remarkable guitarist. I attended a show he did here at Iridium Jazz Club, in 2015, with Cindy Cashdollar (a fabulous steel guitarist, formerly of Asleep at The Wheel).
Albert and I had a little chat and he autographed a CD for me. Super lovely guy.
When I showed this photo to a friend, he asked me, "Who is that granny?"
