I did make it to the grocery store. Didn't get everything we need as we'll do that on Sunday.
A morning nap sounds good Howard.

It didn't happen, Marty...
Strolled down to my favorite Italian cafe for a cappuccino and a couple of baked items for Her Grace's afternoon snack.
Then I spent a couple of hours restringing every guitar I have. And now the sun is out and the storms have moved on.

Howard, you're retired now. You need to leave something to do tomorrow.
Off to the dentist for a cleaning soon. Then the alarm company is supposed to come between 4:00 and 6:00 PM. Since I have to be out of here shortly after 6:00 to get set up to play guitar at choir practice and they may still be here, we're having tuna sandwiches for dinner. I've emptied the coat closet so the alarm guys can easily get to the box.
Son-in-law just found out that he needs a single or possibly a double heart bypass. He's in his late 60s, considerably older than stepdaughter in her 50s. Strange to think that Mr. H and I are healthier than either of them.

Good morning. I missed this yesterday, but April 3 is the anniversary of the launch of the Pony Express, founded in 1860. I have always liked this recruiting poster: "Orphans preferred"
I think $25 per week must have been very high wages at that time. Unfortunately for the career minded, the job only lasted a few months. Unfortunately for the career minded, it's a lifetime gig.

I suppose so. I also just put up a nice beef stew, braising in red wine (a parting gift from a coworker that isn't really fit for drinking), which should be ready right about the time my wife gets home from her client's office. She has been petitioning for me to cook more often, now that I am not getting home before 7:00 pm. I'll find stuff to do tomorrow, Renée.
Sorry to read about your SIL... but nipping this sort of thing in the bud will ensure more happy years of great oxygen distribution (and life!) throughout his system.

We've all spent the majority of our lives making sure we and our Families had food, shelter and a decent quality of life. *Working jobs that we liked, tolerated or even downright hated at times but it paid the bills and gave us a future to look forward too. Now many are retired, it's time to just fuck around for the fun of it.
* Not Joe cuz he has too many talents and not me because you'll have to pry the string winder from my cold dead fingers.

Thank you, Bill. I kept looking at that and wondering if it made sense at all.

She has been petitioning for me to cook more often, now that I am lying on the couch all day, watching reruns of "Jerry Springer"

Just noticed that John Pizzarelli is coming to Valparaiso next week. I see he’s scheduled for four appearances May 11 - 12, the two on the 12th with his trio. All shows at The Dakota. Attention, Minnesota Guitar Mafia!
