Good morning. We'll top 90 degrees today as spring kicks into high gear. Larkspur are starting to bloom all over our yard.
I'll have my standard Zoom social breakfast and trip to the grocery store. Be of good cheer.

Good morning. Claire and I saw Bill Irwin do a one man show at the La Jolla Playhouse ages ago when we were dating. He was very funny. Great stuff. Anyway, rain and a doctors appointment are on the agenda for today. I've caused a bit of a stir with our local Audubon group because of this picture, It's a mottled duck. There's a study going on because the mottled ducks are cross breeding with mallards resulting in hybrid ducks. They're trying to determine the effects on the local population. This duck appears to be a full-on mottled duck, no cross breeding here. Now I've got to figure out how to enter the picture, date and location data on e-bird. Have a great day folks.

Good morning.
44F-57F. mostly cloudy.
Tornado Awareness Day here today. The Warning system will be tested at 1:45 and 6:45. We will hear it quite well as there is a siren only about 100 yards away. The cats are not going to like this. If I'm down in the shop at the time it's not bad but up in the kitchen it can really rock you.

Do that often enough and you get a new species.

Physical therapy beat me senseless yesterday. The young woman will be back tomorrow for round two. Dismal day. Rainy & funky. Breakfast awaits.

Rainy for a couple of days, partly cloudy predicted for the weekend. Back from Ohio, having witnessed the eclipse at our sister-in-law's ancestral farm in the middle of the path of totality. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. A strange dimming light followed by sudden darkness with a light like a sunrise around the entire horizon. Then it suddenly got light again. The farm is on a post-glacial lake plain, which means the countryside is as flat as a pancake. Particularly good viewing of the 360-degree sunrise effect.

It a windy morning here, might rain or it might'nt.
Got my taxes back yesterday, good news from the state, bad news from federal.
Yesterday I cleaned and tested my rock cooking oven, as I prepare to do some serious flint knapping this summer. The oven seems functional so now I need to round up some rocks to put in it and really give it a test.
I've got 2 knap-ins lined up this summer, hopefully I can buy some good, high quality chert/flint there. I'd like some Flint Ridge flint or some Pedernales.

OJ Simpson has died. And never found the murderer, which is a shame.
From AP:
LAS VEGAS — O.J. Simpson, the decorated football superstar and Hollywood actor who was acquitted of charges he killed his former wife and her friend but later found liable in a separate civil trial, has died. He was 76.
Simpson's attorney confirmed to TMZ he died Wednesday night in Las Vegas. A message posted Thursday on Simpson's official X account — formerly Twitter — said he died after battling cancer.

I’m with VI, no idea about who this Bill Irwin character is. Does he even play guitar?
I’m up, sun is jopust coming up. Looks like it will be a nice day, but the news says a tropical storm will arrive. This afternoon, wit real rain for tonight and tommorrow. And a flood watch. Princeville is on a headland over looking the bay so we should be good here, but it’s gonna be muddy in Hanalei.
We went to a great Japanese restaurant last night in Kapaa, called Kintaro. They had lots of dishes I had never heard of and I decided to try something out of my comfort zone. Yose Nabe think it was called. It was a HUGE iron pot of seafood, shrimp, clams, crab, mussels, veggies, and cellophane noodles cooked in a fish broth, it was…interesting. I could only finish about a quarter of it. Glad I tried it but I would not order it again. I’ll stick to tempura.
Today, are having lunch here, as the Condo associating is selling a 15 dollar burger plate with all the proceeds going to a local Kauai charity. A burger and a beer poolside while raising money fir a cause sounds good to me.
That’s all I got.
Mike
