The Grand Army Plaza footage was shot a block from my home.
The parade passed by our building and it was extremely noisy. I was trying to take a catnap. A mitzvah is a good deed,
but they weren't doing me any kindness. This rabbi has an unfortunate name, too, for all you scholars of Yiddish.

I have been trying to catch up with the last 49 years of sleep I have lost. It's the awful music coming over those really tinny speakers on the trucks. It's like they have never considered bass response.

, one of the great, if not well-known, comedic writers of the last century. Howard, you missed one of the ungrumpiest old men in that movie. Burgess Meredith has me in tears every time I watch this. He even quotes aquaduct at 4:24. |
