Good morning. So far this week is going well, but then I've only been up for half an hour.
This morning I need to clean the smoker that produced a delicious rib roast on Saturday. This afternoon I had a committee meeting scheduled but I just learned that it's been postponed due to illness. Nothing else is new.
Keep on the sunny side. Avoid media that make that impossible.

Morning. Did someone break the Soundhole yesterday? Could not get it to load last night. Well, it’s back now.
So tired yesterday from our red eye, arrived in the desert around noon, unpacked, took a nap and went to bed at 9:00 last night. Feel better today. It’s going to hit 99° here today so I’m going for a short bike ride (10 miles) before it gets too hot. Thinking about leaving for OR tomorrow, or maybe Sunday, to avoid the weekend room rates in Mt Shasta. $89.00 weeknights, and $130.00 weekend nights. It’s not a lot but still…. Need to clean the condo and get it ready for the hot summer months. Need to charge and disconnect the battery from the Vespa. I buy shelf stable gas for it so there are no worries there.
That’s about it from the desert.

Hannibal, MO, today on our trip down the Great River Road. Reconnected with the friend who sang at our wedding. We'll see Mark Twain stuff today. A few years ago someone finally found Sam Clemens' signature among the many on the walls inside the cave.

A trip down the Great River Road sounds like a fantastic trip, David. I bet you both are enjoying the heck out of it.
It's sunny here, but windy. I hear clouds are rolling in later.

Good morning. I may be the only person on this board who observes the Passover holiday, and largely because of tradition rather than any sort of profound belief. Her Grace and French class leave for France this afternoon, for a week. I know she will have a great time. Anyone else have moments of missing being 17 years old?

Wife and I will then be heading to her niece's home for the annual seder, where I will sit quietly while everyone talks at the same time, wondering what in the hell I am doing there. This holiday has not been the same for me since my grandmother died in 1980. Most of my relatives are now either dead or far afield.
My new dental plan "welcome kit" (booklet of plan details) and ID card arrived in the mail the other day. Many of these companies are issuing ID cards on thin paper, or what you can print out on your home printer. Fewer are made of anything more durable anymore, but I suppose once you show it to your dentist's assistant, your info is a matter of record in their system. Nonetheless, it's a reminder of the impermanence of things. But hey—at least I don't have to go to that dairy barn to work anymore.
Shortly off to the room of bath to mow my face and clean up for the evening endurance test. Have a good day, all.

Good morning, or not.
40F-65F cloudy.
It was not a good night. The pharmacy finally got my Victoza refilled after over a week of trying to find some. So last night I took my usual dose, wrong thing to do. I should have taken a starter dose as I did when I took the drug for the first time. The stuff makes you ill, very upset stomach until you get used to it and even then I'll take in the evening so I don't have to be nauseous all day. Besides getting up and loosing my home cooked snow crab dinner, that was great and no it wasn't off, I was worried about Simon who also had a very bad day yesterday. He was listless and wouldn't eat, drink or go out while it was fairly warm and sunny, he loves to be out on a sunny day. He seems a little better this morning but if we don't see a big improvement soon he's off to the vet. Now I have to see if I can keep food down so I can take my morning meds and also see if I can get some sleep or they may have to take me to the Vet.

Good morning, all.
This is the last week of classes for the semester at Auburn University. There is a mixture of excitement and fear in the air. Such is college life.
Clinic goes on.

Morning. Did someone break the Soundhole yesterday? Could not get it to load last night. Well, it’s back now. I had that problem too. I’d get an unformatted typewriter text message saying it failed to connect. I tried both iPad and iPhone with different browsers to no avail. When I used network utilities to see if the ProBoards site was up they determined that it was. I even tried with and without VPN. I went downstairs and used my iMac (without VPN) and there was no problem. I got in fine. I didn’t update any software so I’m guessing there was a glitch in a router somewhere. ProBoards itself seemed unaffected so it was in the networking somewhere. As you say, it’s OK today.

It's Earth Day, so find yourself a tree and give it a long, warm hug, won't you?
Also the first day of Trump's criminal trial. No hugging expected there.

Back home from Cedar Rapids and getting the Prius serviced.
If you want a new Prius, you can expect to wait 6 - 9 months.

Oh boy, not much office work today. I was going ride my motorcycle to my old office to grab my mail, but since it is "Earth Day" I think I will fill up the tire on my bicycle and peddle over.
I had a productive weekend: Trip to the dog park, mowed and edged our lawn, new Mother's Day planter boxes moved and partially filled with soil, pruning and other various yardwork done, detailed my 4Runner (at least the outside), took son to "Roakes" for coney dogs, and visited "Gigantic Brewery and Taproom."

Well I got a little food in me and a few hours sleep and am doing better. Simon has been moving around a bit and not trying to hide so that's also a good sign. I have nothing important to do today unless it's a trip to the vet so I think we'll just both rest.

I have a trip to the veterinarian scheduled tomorrow morning. Ruby, my nine year old dachshund mix is lethargic and not eating so I need to get her checked out. It's totally out of character for her.

Riley and I took another long nap and I'm better for it. Simon is moving about on his own and eating, so far so good. I will still go to bed early.

Mondays insure me some overtime. For some reason Amazon doesn't ship Claypool's pallets on Sunday. So, while the other 17 rural routes in the office get their Amazon delivered on Sunday, I get two days worth on Monday. I actually enjoy the second trips it requires (I can't fit two days worth of Amazon in my Jeep). It's a relaxing drive through the country. Yesterday it was 41 miles with only 15 stops.
