County Sales has been a stalwart in traditional music for many decades. Sadly, it is now closing its doors forever. This is a huge loss for all of us who enjoy traditional music of all kinds. They are selling everything at a 40% discount until April 30. They will ship all orders placed by the close of business. Some items aren’t available anywhere else any more. countysales.com

When I did my workshop tour of Virginia, Floyd was home base for a week. I bought a couple of Nashville Bluegrass Band discs there and played a the general store jam.

I must admit, I did not know this. That store was much more than just a music shop.

I’ve been buying records from them for over 50 years. I started back when they only had a mimeographed, typewritten newsletter they’d send out listing what they had and you mailed in your order.
Last night I used the Web site to order a bunch of things they only had one of so as not to miss out.

I must admit, I did not know this. That store was much more than just a music shop. I just assumed you were knowledgeable about pretty much anything music-related, Paul, especially since you play resonators (often played by people who are interested in early 20th century music)
