Good morning. It'll be about 60-82 here and somewhat breezy. Late this evening, younger daughter will arrive, mostly to visit her pregnant sister. It'll be good to have all three offspring here this weekend, with pleasant weather to boot.
Meanwhile, Zoom social breakfast and grocery shopping. Enjoy your day.

Good morning. Chilly and overcast in Brooklyn today. I will be meeting a friend from the job at the Brooklyn Museum later, perhaps take a stroll through the Botanic Garden, and pop in for lunch somewhere. Need coffee!
Have a good day, folks.

I'll be on the phone all day with Vikings coaches and management. Pretty intense.

Good morning
42F-67F cloudy
Got up to make coffee this morning and heard a kitty yelling on the front porch, Riley. We left him out all night and he was not happy about it. No foul as it was not cold out last night. In Winter we set a timer so cats don't get left outside when it's very cold but now they get bratty about coming in when we go to bed. I went to bed early and Riley never listens to DaWife when it's time to come in he wants me to call for him. Well she don't play that game and since it was not cold out that's where he stayed. Simon will come to anyone, including you all, he's very socialized. As for Simon he's eating and drinking some, goes outside for a bit and changes sleeping spots inside so doing much better.
EDIT: Got a Doc appointment tomorrow and going to talk to him about dropping the Victoza. I was just fine without it while they were out of stock for two weeks and sick as a dog the moment I started taking it again.

Sunny and cool.
Effectively taking a break from automotive shopping today. It appears we have settled on a 2016 Ford Escape for our daughter (she loves it - Titanium model, with leather seats and all kinds of gadgets and geegaws). Carfax indicates the previous owners maintained it well. If an inspection by our regular mechanic checks out, we will buy it.
Off to the gym and a short bike ride.

Good morning. Went out early with the mountain bike to the Weeki Wachi preserve. Turned out to be a lot more strenuous than I thought it was going to be. I tried some of the more remote trails. There are feral pigs in the preserve and they dig sleeping pits in the sandy parts of the trail making it impossible to bike through. There were also parts of the trail where the loose sand was so dominant that it was just too much even for the wide off-road treads on the bike. So there was a lot of waking the bike until I got to the more bike friendly trails which I will stay on in the future. At any rate, I got a good amount of exercise and I also came across a wild turkey with about 8 chicks. Didn't have the camera so no picture. Good stuff.
Have a great day.

It promises to be a pleasant day, same weather as Phoenix, with a high of 79. I told my choir director that I'm playing hooky tonight to attend a social event. We don't sing this Sunday and I know the music for the rest of the season, so not a big deal. This evening our HOA is having its monthly dineout. Usually at a restaurant, but this time it's a catered hors d'oeuvres buffet at the clubhouse. Our new next door neighbors who haven't moved in yet will be there, so maybe we'll get to talk to them more than we have. Plus we'll socialize with other neighbors.

Which makes a good team of scouts all the more necessary. I work the fringes. Got a line on a 450lb nose tackle from NDSU. And the kid is still growing. He is a secret to the rest of the league as he is a music major and has never played a lick of football. So, you might call him a project. Ok, so he is definitely a project. If they want better work, they can pay me. (it appears the Vikes are desperate to trade up for a QB... and the entire league knows it. Hope they don't get fleeced!)

The draft is already over. Caitlin Clark got picked up by the Indiana Fever.

It's clear and relatively cool today. Clouds are supposed to move in later, the harbinger of stormy weather we're expecting all weekend.

It's DRAFT DAY! I'll be on the phone all day with Vikings coaches and management. Pretty intense. I almost got drafted, my draft number was 9 but then Nixon ended the draft a week or so before I was going to be called up. I had already passed the physical. Joined the Navy a few years later anyway.......

I volunteered but flunked the physical. Allergy to penicillin and a gastric ulcer. Had a deal with my draft board that I would apply for CO status if I passed my physical. Phew. My draft number was way low.

After I got my degree in English literature, I sat nervously by the phone waiting for the call notifying me that I had been drafted by one of the top literature analysis companies and could expect a six figure signing bonus. About 9 p.m. I gave up and went to bed.

Good morning all. Perfect weather here at the moment, not that it matters inside the clinic.
This is the next-to-last day of classes for the semester, so exams are looming.

Good morning, I'm back home from Vinton. Took the truck in, I lost both low beam lights last week. Burnt out bulb and burned socket, it fixed now.
While the truck was being repaired, I walked downtown and had coffee and a breakfast biscuit at Brickside.
Gassed up the truck, spent $160.00 dollars at Fareway, stocking up on stuff for the cabin. We plan to open the cabin this Saturday.
I believe my rock cooking turkey roaster has died, it was cold this morning, should have been at 425 degrees. I'll check the rocks later.

The first 8 teams will take the best rated QBs just to keep them out of play for their first Pro year.

It is Indy as all get out here. Had a pile of leaves and sand in front of the door this am. The damn wind blew it in faster than I could sweep it out, so much dust in the air you can’t see San Jacinto which is like 15-20 miles from here.
Stagecoach concert is in Indio this weekend, so there will be hoards of people everywhere. Damn those kids on my lawn. We were planning on leaving on Monday, but so will the hoards, so now the plan is to leave Tuesday morning.
Oh, and in Facebook news, received a friend request from one “Lary” who used Lars old picture. Bastids!

I may be done preparing a household budget. Very likely that I missed something, but initial results are that the most expensive category is health insurance plus out of pocket medical. No surprise there. Next is income taxes. No way to cut down on either of those. Then travel, which is high due to making up for 3 lost years during COVID and wanting to do some things before we no longer can. And the number that I was initially curious about that started all of these computations is that it costs us $1,100 a month just to stay in our house, not including repairs and maintenance. No mortgage, but HOA fees, property tax, insurance, and utilities.
