Good morning. Making breakfast. More rain coming. Helping Her Grace study for her big AP US History test tomorrow. Guitar and song list time today, maybe a nap?
On This Day:
1936 English actor Albert Finney (The Dresser, Under the Volcano), was born in Salford, England.
"Albert Finney was an English actor who came to fame with his film debut in The Entertainer (1960), which was directed by Tony Richardson. Subsequently Finney, having previously worked in theatre, became known for his many film roles. "Finney was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor four times: Tom Jones (1963), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Dresser (1983), and Under the Volcano (1984). He won a BAFTA, Golden Globe, and an Emmy." — www.onthisday.com/people/albert-finney
One of my favorite of that generation. He died in February 2019.
A screening of "Tom Jones or "The Dresser" may be in order. Wishing everyone a pleasant day.

Good morning. We'll have high 50s to high 80s. I'll have my Zoom social breakfast and then shop for groceries. Because of Mother's Day, I'll make both lunch and dinner on Sunday. I'm still trying to figure out a quick but tasty lunch to make.
All's well. Have a good day.

Good morning.
48F-66F sunny.
Pulled my butt out of bed at 6am as usual to make coffee for DaWife. She won't even start to wake up until she gets some coffee in her so she can be at her computer at 8:30.
I made the coffee and then Simon and I went back to bed for a few minutes to let the coffee maker do its thing. Got up 15 minutes later and there was but one cup worth of coffee in the carafe. Tried and tried but our old Mr Coffee has given up the ghost. So I'll break out the single cup maker and my first chore this morning will be to go procure a new Mr Coffee because she drinks coffee all day long while working.
I did finally get the proper bandsaw blade and installed it. I also readjusted it so now it not only cuts well it doesn't vibrate while running quietly. Next is a new belt and disk for my old sander. I'm never hard on my tools but it's been years since I changed abrasives and it will sand much faster with those changed and a good lubrication to the rollers.

I'm off today. So far it's been too rainy to do much of anything. I hoped to cut the yard but that's probably not going to happen. I think we might get a break in the weather in about an hour. We'll probably walk the dog during that time. Then maybe do some organizing for the kitchen and bath remodels.

Lots of rain overnight. It does look lush outside. I just realized my surgery is going to screw up our anniversary. That really upset me. We usually go somewhere. I guess we will have to postpone that until fall.

At the Airstream rally in Coeur D’Alene with approximately 150 other Airstream trailers. Silver spaceships are everywhere. This is the regional rally that includes groups from Origon, Washington, Idaho, and Western Canada. Trailers of all vintages, from the fifty’s through brand new. Some completely customized, some works in progress. Seminars on maintenance, fly fishing, backing trailers, camp cooking etc. weak internet means I have to use my cell phone and can’t post pics. But coffee is ready.

Beautiful morning, rain in the forecast. Edward Jones, party/dinner tonight.
I think it's time to get the "good" Martin out of the humidity controlled winter resting spot and see what it sounds like after it's hibernation.
Got my new washing machine yesterday, did a short, 12 mile, bike ride and mowed lawn.

Kinda chilly, might rain.
Grass and weeds are cut and the house is clean. Dawn's coworkers are coming for a meeting at 1:00 PM. The Dog and I will disappear for a couple of hours. Hopefully the rain will hold off and we can go for a long walk.

Last Friday I ordered a set of ebony bridge pins with abalone dots from Custom Inlay, in Kentucky, for my 2013 Hooper D-28. The guitar came to me (I am the third owner) in July 2016 with plain black pins, but since it is a -28 style, the pins should have the dots, per tradition. The fretboard inlays are abalone so I decided to match as closely as possible. Since I had a problem with proper fit ordering bridge pins in the past, this time I took measurements just below the skirt with my micrometer and these pins should, I hope, slide right in and not sit proud of the bridge-pin holes. They are also unslotted.
The new pins are my retirement gift to myself. They should arrive Saturday.

Good morning. Back from an early morning mountain bike ride at the Weeki Wachi preserve. Looks like record high temperatures today so bike rides are early morning or late afternoon/evening affairs. I'm supposed to take the bike in to the shop in about two weeks for a break in period adjustment and checkup of stretched out cables and anything that got out of line or. I'll be putting on a wide body seat and getting an extension put on to raise the handlebars so I can sit in a more upright position. My butt and arthritic neck will be much better off with the changes. During the ride I came across a wrecked bike by the side of the trail. The preserve is an old limestone quarry and there are lots of steep mounds of dirt and rocks left over from the operation. Folks climb up on them to look around. Apparently, some idiot decided to take his bike up to the top of a mound and ride down the almost vertical drop from the top. It didn't go well, and the bike was left by the side of the trail with the from wheel bent out of shape. I guess I won't be trying out that maneuver.
Rest and relaxation await. Have a great day.

Back from procuring a Mr Coffee. It's perfect, it has an on/off switch and that's it. No clock, no settings, no nothing. I'm running a cleaning cycle and then I'll brew her some coffee.
