A while back, someone posted a link to a game that involved placing the fifty states in their correct geographic location.
Can anyone help me find that link? Our fourth grade teacher is interested.
Thanks, Paul

4th Grade teacher?
Maybe I'd better start over again in first grade. I'm in the middle of a game now. I have 2 of 7 perfect with an average error of 109 miles.
The only part I'm getting right so far is not placing a state in the middle of the ocean.
But I'm not done yet.

Ok, I don't want to brag or anything, but I did real good on Hawaii. And Indiana.
I'm pretty sure I can find Illinois.

very cool game. I averaged 19 miles off and I bet I lost most of those trying to place DC without any of the surrounding state lines in place.
It wouldn't be such a bad idea to move DC anyway. Like, perhaps to Argentina.

Not Argentina, move it to Gitmo with no AC.

36 miles, with new reason to hate Vermont & Rhode Island.
What kind of freakin island is sitting in the middle of a bunch of land? Stupid state.
I got Iowa, which will be reassuring come the floating target date in September.

Iowa is placeable by fitting it into the curve of the Mississippi.
Try plunking Wyoming down with no reference but the land. harumph.
I am trying to learn where the western states belong and generally get 94% or so, 8 miles errors.

Try plunking Wyoming down with no reference but the land. harumph. yeah, the order that the States are handed to you makes all the difference. I just re-did it and got an average of 5 miles off. That was mostly because the only blind placement I had to do was Colorado, and I just lucked it right in place.

Now let's see if we can get the provinces in the right place. I can probably do all of them except the Maritimes.
