Four vintage Bauman bowlettes arrived at the door a little while ago.
They exceed all expectations. Dark cobalt exterior, nicely striated, with a little dark aqua flourish near the rim. The exterior is flecked with a zillion tiny dots of gold. The interior is dark aqua, the base is au naturel. The look splendid in the kitchen.
GUMBO'S ON!!!

I'll be there in a minute. Keep the gumbo hot!
(the gold dots in a field of cobalt was a happy serendipidy I got when I experimented with a different iron source. I'm trying to resurrect that glaze for use again)

But the bowls will not remain hollow, Marshall.
Funny what you can divine about a person simply by their packaging. The bowls were packed to handily survive a sacking by Visigoths & Vandols. The box was cobbed together from two boxes. The inner packing reeked of cigars. The whole was neatly wrapped in kraft paper. I'm guessing the shipper is herself not to neatly wrapped, and that there is some craft she does that is so quirky some would consider it funky folk art.

<Vandals>
Amazed I beat Bill H to the punch.
Having got that out of my system, I swear the instant I get set up back in the States, I'm ordering some of this stuff.

Wow, right you are, Paul. I don't know why I had it in my mind they were Vandols while the teen punks are vandals. They're all vandals apparently.
In either case, they failed to bust up John's wee pots.
