New forum member Dan Sweetser has agreed to post a recording of his song, written by himself and presumably played by himself and his group (The Sweetser-N-Lows?). Just kidding Dan. Beautiful song, and thanks to Dan for posting it. Also, welcome to The SoundHole. I am sure he would appreciate any thoughts and feedback. I for one, love the flow, and the sound of the lead singers voice. The backing vocals mix perfectly and harmonize well, and there's a calming, yet energetic synergy between the voice of the singer and the guitar that many modern singer/songwriters long for but struggle to achieve. Dan, well done sir. CLICK TO LISTEN ----> You Can Close Your Eyes - Dan Sweetser

That lead singer is Dan -- he and I have been e-mailing for a while now. The only thing I don't like about this song is that JT already snagged the title years ago!
WAY TO GO, DASHTONS!
Um, Cribbs, clicking on the link seems to just give me another copy of this thread, not the mp3!

I dunno why Bill, when I click it, it spawns Windows Media Player and the song begins. I will test it from work when I get there this morning.
Anyone else having a problem with it?

Nice work Dan, I'm enjoying the track a lot. Nice balance between the instruments and the vocals, and a great voice. Thanks for posting it for us.
Cheers,
Paul

I'm glad I dug this up from page two of the Cafe. Been gone a few days, but glad I caught this one. I'm enjoying this one.

Thanks Paul and VI! For the record, the band is ESP (my cohorts are Steve Edmonson and Spencer Pyne - get it, ESP). We had a great time learning about and playing with ProTools in Spencer's basement. Hence the overproduction.

WOW ! ( Overproduction ? ? ? ? I don't think so.)
Great voice. Great harmony. Very nice instrumentation. Great listen.
Country-Pop at it's best. What are you going to do with it ?
Get it out there.
(Damn that was good.)

Marshall:
Me thinkst you overstateth, but thank you so, so much for the kind words. Right now we're just trying to get a few more gigs set up and, being a bunch of geezers, there are no current plans to get our songs too much further out there than that.
Thanks again Marshall!
