Someone once asked me when I'd ever get around to posting some videos on YouTube and I replied, "Sure. I'll do it when there's a gamma ray burst that's visible to the naked eye." Well, ok, since that happened last week (with a GRB that was 7.5 billion light years away, meaning what we saw took place before Earth even existed) I decided to get off my butt and post a couple. That, and I'm opening for Tom Paxton next month, so I figured I should have some sort of online presence since I'm too incompetent or lazy to put together a MySpace page. So here, for your viewing enjoyment/entertainment/amusement/disgust are two videos. The first is me doing an original composition, "When My Demons & I Come Home." It's about what happens when you send soldiers off to war and you don't deal with their problems when they come back: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkoNgJg8qHMThe second tune is my rendition of Stephen Foster's "Oh! Susanna." I do it fingerstyle, but throw a minor chord in the chorus just to add some tension and emphasis: www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7JikO8co5cAnd if anyone wonders, the guitar I'm playing was built by our own MnHermit. So there you have it.
