I liked the second set. Is that THE Leni Riefenstahl?

By the way, photo forums are not a place for me. When I visit one I start thinking about taking photos as good as what I'm seeing and wanting to impress people. That's not the attitude I want to have. I want to keep it fun. So I mostly avoid them.

I hear what you're saying Don.
I enjoy looking at other's work, and learning about what's the latest techniques and find that photo forums are useful that way. The LL is less interesting than it used to be for some reason. I think MR is less interested in it, and the same old crowd says pretty much the same thing all the time, based on their new stuff.
Gear isn't what photography is about. If you can't take a good photo with a Kodak Brownie you can't take a good photograph.
Not to say that good equipment isn't wonderful, but the agenda should be the photo. MR knows that. He says it all the time, and then goes on to talk about his newest five thousand dollar printer and how it sucks a little less than the last one.
That said, there is a ton of great tutorial material out there, and MR has a good stack of it.
But now that we're talking about it ... what is the point, for you, of taking photos?
I do it because I'm can't stop myself. I'm compelled. Have been for years and years.

I have enjoyed and learned from the tutorials at the Luminous Landscape, which I learned about from you, even though landscapes are not my main interest.
Why photography? I like pretty and interesting pictures, and I like creativity. I liked looking at good pictures and thought it would be fun to try to make some. It's not all that different from why I like songwriting.
Oh, and it's a cheap way to decorate the walls.
