Ruins

This morning's hike was in an area with a lot of ruins and I took a few pictures. The estimate is that this settlement was occupied from about 1000 AD to about 1250 AD. There are a lot of ruins around here and they're almost all on hilltops, presumably for security reasons.

Very cool, Don. Is that area a place you can get to just before sunrise? I think there would be lots of potential for some dramatic shots.

John B, I think the light would be much better then, but between driving and hiking the place is an hour and fifteen minutes away. I'd have to leave by about 4:00 AM at this time of year. Maybe in midwinter I'll try it.
