I got up early and was hiking at sunrise in North Mountain Park. On the way back I took a walk by one of the canals. A pleasant morning.

I also like the sunrise shot. I'll try to describe what I like, even though I'm not sure I have the right vocabulary.
The tree immediately grabs my eye, and the downward slope leads me to the "floating" mountain in the lower right. I also like how the front ridge line echoes the rear mountain. Or maybe it just appears that way. Then I notice that there's another mountain in between the front and back ones at the far right. Then I also notice that the primary ridge isn't just a solid blob - there are lots of details hidden in the darkness.
The way the sunrise is positioned - the bright light just to the right of the tree, with the darker colors extending out towards the mountains on the right - really adds a lot to the picture.
All in all, a beautiful part of nature caught with a good eye a just the right time.

Thanks. If I were to describe what I see in this one, I would say just about exactly what you said.
