Was watching the Canadian station Much More Music's video awards for the years. Oh, it was bad. Lots of bad pop music, people shouting, doing what passes for dancing, (I like good hiphop, but this was crap.) My girls really wanted to watch. Along comes Akon to sing a song, one of their favourites. As he's walking onto the stage, the music starts. The singing starts - except that he's not singing. Half way through the first line, the mic goes up to his mouth. My girls were stunned. My 12 year old still said she'd go seem him live - to which I, (and my 10 year old,) asked her if it was worth a hundred bucks to go see someone who isn't even really singing. I've seen people who were bad live, but this takes the cake. Then I started to wonder if any players 'finger sync'. I've never heard of it - but no reason it couldn't be done. Then I got depressed just thinking about it....

I lipped synched all my audio-only recordings. I tried to finger synch too, but I couldn't keep up with me.

Interesting thread, KT. Wonder if anyone does it live? I certainly would not expect Mr. Williams to do that...

It used to be that I did not want to play something the same way twice. These days I am wishing to play something that appears correct at least once in a while. There is very little hope of being able to pull off "finger-syncing"!
