My 12 year old took this shot. This is from our deck. In our house, we spent 9 years looking at our neighbours moldy siding. Now we get to look at Mt. Baker, a dormant volcano, which is actually in Washinton State. It's smokes from time to time - we'll have a great view if it does blow.

Wow...Mount Baker looks so close, doesn't it?
We can see it from our house as well...not quite as clearly as you, but it is beautiful to look at.
Tell your little one that he/she took a great picture:)
Thanks for sharing!

'View from the Deck' - sounds like a retirement newsletter. But you've got a great one. What a place to sit and pick!

Nice view, Rick. It almost looks like it's smoking now.
Roughly 30 years ago I went to Arizona on buisness with a small group & stayed in or near Nogales. My flight got in late, I went to the hotel, and immediately went to sleep.
The next morning I got up & looked out the window, surprised to see a mountain in the distance, past rolling hills of desert sand. Instead of rushing to get ready (like I should have), I took my coffee out on the balcony and just sat there, half expecting John Wayne to come riding over one of the hills.
I missed my ride with the others that morning, and the plant had to send a second car to pick me up. That was no big deal. They were getting a little pissed at me by the end of the week, though, because every morning I was drawn to that view & sat on the balcony sipping coffee while the scheduled ride left without me.
I'm surprised you get to work at all, Rick.

Thanks, all. We bought our daughter a digital camera for her birthday, and she loves to take picture - she has a pretty good eye, for a beginner.
It is indeed a great place to sit and pick. I can sit in the kitchen/dining room, on one of the barstools, and play and look out. Or I can sit on the deck when the weather is fine.
Mccoyblues, we moved. We were in a house - it was noisy, and too far from our girls' school. We're now in a townhouse, which is strata, but I had pretty much decided I didn't like doing outside work on the place, anyways. We're really happy.

I know, Jim. I have a great place to work at home, upstairs in the master bedroom. It's big enough we put a big comfy chair by the window, and I can sit there, look out at it, and work. So I do that usually a day a week. I get up early, so right now I see it first thing with the dawn sun on it, all pink and purple. Some days we don't see it, there's too much haze or cloud. Some days it's just kind of misty. Other days it looks like it's just over the next hill, it's so clear.
