I could be happy with Cribbs, Shannon, anyone who has registered so far, a committee....I just hope that whoever shoulders the chore is slow to intervene but decisive when necessary.

That's where I am coming from. The rules (guidelines, rather) should all be agreed on by the founding members at least. Like the pilgrims that founded America, they started from scratch with their own ideas. Forget where we are at today, but the concept was new and amazing. There were freedoms, and laws. The moderators we select won't be deity, just more like a Congress or something, except without all the embezzlement, shenanigans, etc. They will be representatives of the whole group, but also have the power to execute the judicial branch. More like a judge.

On further reflection, there is certainly no way to keep folks from signing on if they want to, and an admissions committee would probably not work. Cribbs is right: reasonable rules, fairly and kindly enforced, with enough moderators to avoid the look of a dictatorship. That's the ticket.
I mean, really, who cares who joins as long as they behave?
Did I just say that?

I'd be happy to help, but it may not be a good idea. I'm ready to smite somebody. Don't give me any power right now.

Think Junta . . . , no. . . , Ruling Junta
Now that sounds nice.
Actually I think a committee of 3 to 5 would be nice. Majority rules. Cribs has a super vote. . . , he is a Cubs fan, ya know. (And boy it hurts to mention that name.)

I clicked smite by mistake, sorry...but I will make up for it I promise...
and if I never hear the phrase, "I respectfully........" again it will be way too soon...I heard it again this evening and just shuttered inside. Ya think if some folks read some of these posts they will figure out that they have to behave or begone....?

I'm hoping you have room for a homeless gypsy. I didn't get much of the backchannel chatter and I see I'm late to the game. It sure is good to see all of you in friendly environs again.
