Played the Newfolden Golf Tournament today. 18 holes of best ball skins, then nine holes of beer golf, one beer per hole. Then off to the Legion for burgers and beer. Then home, and, hey, I was in time to catch Hillary’s speech. So I made some popcorn and popped another Sam Adams.
My over-riding impression of Hillary’s speech: Man, is she hot.
Chelsey looked really good, too. So did Bill and Michelle.
Maybe it was the golf?

All things are possible with beer.
I was watching carefully for any sign of half-heartedness or betrayal, for either of which I would never have forgiven her. No such sign. She said it's not about me, it's about the country, and if you agreed with me about the issues, there ain't no way you can vote for McCain. Seems unarguable to me. A fine hour for someone who has never warmed my heart.

So, you thought she was hot, too?
How 'bout that orange jumpsuit? HOT, HOT, HOT.
I forget what Bill was wearing.
But Hillary did good.

She was worrying me a bit for awhile there in that long stretch in the middle that sounded like a Hillary for President speech, but she came around. I don't remember what Bill was wearing either, but that little turkey neck waddle thing he's developing there is becoming.

I still like Hillary. Michelle rocks too. I like strong smart women.

Hillary? Man, you guys need to take notes from Bill and pay attention to the younger women. ![](http://blackliberal.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/chelsea-clinton-2.jpg) As far as the speech, too much stump speech and not enough counter to her previous statements about Obama's readiness for the job. The republicans were attacking her on it before the echo died down.

Who wants to bet Chelsea ends up running for office some day?
Hillary's speech was well done and I thought convincing. But it does amaze me that even after that there were some on the floor that were still considering at least staying home on election day rather than vote for Obama. If that persists, Obama is probably doomed.

Who wants to bet Chelsea ends up running for office some day? I'd put some money down. I don't think she will. But it does amaze me that even after that there were some on the floor that were still considering at least staying home on election day rather than vote for Obama. The phrase I heard quite a few times was "Buyer's remorse".

I think Chelsea is too smart to go into politics. She has seen it tear her parents up and apart. Everyone in the Kennedy clan seems to go into politics because I'm not sure any of them have any skills to do anything else. Sort of if your last name is Bush.

If that persists, Obama is probably doomed. It's facinating to me that a Hillary supporter would be prepared to vote for McCain or stay home if Hillary isn't on the ticket. Were they paying attention to Hillary's politics? Does this mean that they would vote for a female candidate even if her politics were to the right of Dick Cheney? Can the Democrats do anything right? "I don't belong to any organized political party. I'm a Democrat." - Will Rogers

I think it just goes to the generally shallow reasoning behind MOST people's votes. I think most people believe STEADFASTLY in ideologies that, if asked, they could not describe, explain, nor defend to you even if you bribed them with Maidrites.

While watching it I thought, "If she'd been speaking like this 6 months ago, she'd be the candidate right now."
Great speech. And some great one-liners. I think she'll be as much of an attack dog against McCain as Biden will.

I don't think there's nearly as much "if-I-can't-have-Hillary-I'll-vote-McCain" sentiment (sediment?) out there as some news organizatons are trying to portray. It's as if that's the story they're trying to tell, and they'll tell it even without support.
A reporter on the radio yesterday was talking to a Hillary delegate. Three times he asked the same question. "Are you going to vote for McCain?" "Of course not, we're Democrats." "Do you support McCain over Obama?" "No. We're showing our respect for Hillary, and then we're voting for Obama." "Do you feel any resentment toward Obama?" "No, we're working on his campaign and we're going to vote for him."
A number of bloggers have been looking around Denver trying to find the hordes of Hillary/McCain supporters. There was supposed to be a huge rally. They found 15-20 sad looking Hillary supporters, and three times as many Republicans, in a bar.
In today's Star-Tribune, there's a column written by a woman explaining that she's decided to vote for McCain instead of Hillary. But her bio states that she's the president of a local Chamber of Commerce. How many non-Republican chamber of commerce people do you know?

I agree. There are a handful of very dumb women out there who were for Hillary just because she is female and are really dumb enough to vote for a guy (he's still a guy, ladies) who stands firm against their rights just to not vote for the guy who beat Hill. But I think it is a very small and shrinking constituency that the news people love to speculate about.
