Ggggggoood mmmmmorning. Cold and rainy here. I really do not care for November, for the most part. When I am king, there will be no November, and no March. Thanksgiving will be moved to a new date.

Chilly here but not like that cool photo, Bill.
Another great day of Soundholers being who we is.

Good mornin'! Send some of that rain down this way, will ya? It's cold and dry here this morning. We went to Quivira NWR yesterday to see if we could find the Whooping Cranes. We got within about 500 yards of a flock of 12 of these majestic birds. Close enough for a good view through my spotting scope, but not close enough for good pictures.
Have a great day, all!

tom, that's when you go drop the big bucks on the long lens with the image stabilizer if you're a but touched in the head like a certain goddess I could mention. Good morning. Billiam - VERY COOL picture! It's not so cold here today, but you can just tell it's going to be nasty. I hope Saturday will be okay because of the Santa Claus parade. Everyone works so hard on the thing. There are more than a hundred floats every year, in this small city of 20K. I agree about November billiam, except for the fact that *some* people are not sitting around in brown and grey and gloomy and wet and boring landscapes. Oh no, they are not, they have flowers in their gardens and it's warm. They know who they are. No need to name names. If we did away with November it would wipe that smug smile off their faces, wouldn't it? You all have a great day and billiam and I will try to concentrate on the sunshine inside of our envious little selves.

For the record, I did not take that photo, but I felt every pixel of it when I found it.

Yeah, I know sekh, I've got a 500mm lens for my 35mm cameras and a very stable tripod, but my digital equipment consists of an Olympus point 'n' shoot. Someday, I'd love to get a digital SLR, but the budget just won't stand it right now.

Good morning though it is not going to be a good one for me. I have to be on a liquid diet all day in prep for the colon exam tomorrow. I am already hungry and in a bad mood. It's my age I think but you can have a good day.

Roy, my sympathies. There is nothing to do but to get through it with as much equanimity as possible. Go look at the Sergeant Pepper thread for a laugh.

Frost on the ground here in central Alabama this morning, but should warm up to high 60s.
Had a really good, if somewhat chilly, party gig over the weekend. Played for about 2 1/2 hours altogether, got paid nicely. Maybe they'll call me again sometime.
Other than that, not much new. I'm trying to get in the mood for Saturdays' Auburn/Alabama football game, but the embarassing loss to Georgia has taken the wind out of my sails.

Been there, done that. At least I got to lay on my side and watch the monitor. I'm the only guy I know with two pictures of his own colon in the family album. Ok, they're actually in my medical records...... Paul

It's about 60° in Brooklyn this morning, soft grey and cloudy. A stiff wind blew through the neighborhood in the wee hours, waking us and scattering more leaves from the berm across the road. My new job has been delayed a day or two. Apparently, my supervisor's grandmother was admitted to the hospital in critical condition on Friday, and they are not sure she's going to make it. He didn't want me to come in for my first day without his being there to help me transition smoothly into the department, and make sure my workstation is set up, etc. Not even sure I am going to be working in an office or a veal-fattening pen. It does give me one more day to study the catalog. (Note to Bill: You would not believe the number of grammatical and punctuational errors in this thing, not to mention the dropped or mistakenly-placed lines of copy. My work is cut out for me.) Paul S: Just think of how clean you'll be, though. Now is the time to modify that diet . . .

Storm, I'm post-colonoscopy. Roy is getting his plumbing checked tomorrow! As for modifying the diet, you can call me Mr. Fibre. Hell I caught greif from the 11 year old because the only kind of cereal we have in the house is Cheerios and Bran Flakes. She also gave me a earful when I refused to buy anything but wheat bread baguettes (Sp??) Of course, none of this healthy living will do me a bit of good if I go back to Iraq and get blown up, but my colon will die happy. Paul

Morning all - Cold and gray here with a dusting of snow. Wish I could play hot jazz - it might warm up the day.

Well let's see.
Last Friday was the last football game for Cameron's high school. I think their final record was 2-8. No playoffs for these guys. Next Friday is a playoff game I have to work concession for. Hopefully the two teams will bring thousands of hungry people.
Today is Cameron's birthday. He is now 17. I don't remember giving him permission to get this old.

Well, the World has officially Gone to Hell in a Handbasket.
The Star Tribune has a new weekly youth-oriented section that lists rock concerts, etc., among other things, and our top editors have given it approval to mention, verbatim, a fringe local band called Total Fucking Blood.
In the main paper, we will continue to call it Total F'ing Blood.
