I need to set the document default program as Microsoft Word, which is installed on the computer, but now the damn thing goes to Microsoft Works. How do I change it please? My son's computer, I still use XP.
By the way, the computer is set on closed WINDOW tuning...

In Microsoft Word 2007 in the upper left corner is the Word Icon, when you click on it and open the menu. Then click on Save As it also allows you to save it in different styles of documents. Then it goes to the Document File.
But you already knew that. Huh!
or are you using the old 2003 version of Office?

Start, control panel, default programs, associate a file type with ... , choose .doc and then Microsoft Word.
There you go.

Thanks, Kate. As soon as he wakes up - 12 or 1PM I guess, I'll go in and do it.
Mission accomplished - easy! Thanks again.
