We had a garbage sale a couple years ago in town. Kim called me in a panic hours before it was supposed to begin; people were invading the driveway, not heeding her pleas that she wasn't ready. I grabbed some police tape out of my office (don't ask me why I have that in my office), came home and blocked off the yard.

It started about the time I got home, and it was a weird day. I parked a block away, the closest I could get, and tried to escape the crowd by going into the garage, which was closed, via the back yard. I walked in, and there was a mother with her 12-year-old girl in her underwear trying on clothes. I averted my eyes and escaped into our house, and in the bedroom a grown woman was trying on jeans.

The driveway was a melee of people we had never seen before. People constant for six hours. Cars with plates from other counties. Garbage sales are weird.

But Kim made lots of money. It paid for our vacation that year.

I'm hijacking, here. I'm guessing that you'll do great, t-bob, and it'll be worth it. But looking at your ad, you're going to have a huge crowd. Any neighbors to enlist for help?

T-bob -- I can't believe you're selling the Barbarossa! I got my grubby mitts on it at IdiotJam II -- it is the ultimate laid-back fingerpicker (although I would understand if the neck is not quite right for your hands)

I do have a Skil planer somewhere, and not sure what model, but I bought it in the late 70s, if that tells you anything. I also have a cordless Ryobi and a corded Bosch planer.

It is the neck on the Barbarossa that is challenging. And now with less physical space to have instruments, I'm keeping just the Taylor, the Goya, a Strat, and a mountain dulcimer. Plus a spinet sized piano.

The reason B's neck works for me is the chunk factor. For a mainly thumb-behind player a bit of chunk is way mo comfortable.

And the reason I can make it work is that I have huge hands.
