Pretty picture, Don.
Beautiful day up north. Plums are still blooming sweetly. Flowering crabs are budded to color. Tulip are in full glory. And I have a tomato the size of a shooter marble in my greenhouse. And I just saw a hummingbird.

My big chorus concert is tonight. There were rehearsals and sound checks this week. I'm playing guitar about half the time and singing some of the time. My space on the stage keeps getting smaller and smaller. This happens at every concert. I'm used to it, but don't like it. After the two guitarists did a sound check on Monday, the other guy showed up with a different guitar last night. He didn't make points with the sound guy, who is the only one getting paid. Against my better judgment and uncharacteristically for me, I left everything but my guitar on the stage. Didn't want to lose any more space, didn't want to let any settings get changed on my practice amp (being used as a stage monitor), and didn't want to deal with arranging the mess of cords and equipment again.
Meanwhile, I'm packing for a trip to Hawaii, which will happen the day after the chorus' end of season meeting followed by a party.

Most days these days I'm wondering who has speeded up time. The days and weeks just fly by. I'm trying to limit my cybering in hopes of preserving more of each day. Not sure it's making a difference though. I'm been actively seeking out some people with whom to play music. I played with another guitarist the other day...jury still out on whether that will work out in the long run. Have plans to play with a drummer in a few weeks. I've done that before with another person and enjoyed it. I also found a weekly "guitar club" that meets Tuesday evenings at a bar. It sounds pretty friendly and laidback. May try that next week. Today MrR and I took our first ride on our new bikes (just picked them up last night). We did 10 miles today. It's fun. Wow today's bikes sure do make the ride easy! Ok..so yah I fell once...in the first 5 minutes in the driveway coming back from a practice loop. I applied the brakes with just a tad too much vigor. Nothing broken 'cept my pride.

I just got back from an excursion to Payson, AZ, a trek suggested by Cornflake and his wife. On the way, I stopped at "All Bikes," also known as the motorcycle graveyard. When I got to Payson, I tracked down Zane Grey's cabin, where he wrote a bunch of novels. Fun trip. By the way, does anyone know what motorcycle company this emblem belongs to? Here's a pic of two bikes bearing the logo.
