Both from the "America Goes Dark" thread, page 5. First runner up, dradke: But how do the libraries keep the river from flooding? Pure genius, Bill Hammond: Isn't all spending agenda-driven? I'd be curious to hear how windmills have "more environmental impact" than giant dams that submerge substantial chunks of the landscape and alter water availability for all the downstream territories. And that's not a snarky question--I'm aware of some problems with wind power, but not that they're on the scale of, say, damming the Colorado. To sum up, Russ is praising with feint dams.

No--I was feinting against dam praise.

Damn - Russ fainted?
One of those light in the loafers artsy writer types. Russ, stop sniffing the book bindings.

All my loafers (my preferred footwear, by the way) have lead soles to prevent just such feints of fainting--I remain firmly anchored through any and all bouts of light-headedness. None of which are the result of either my soi-disant profession (which in my case we do not have) or of indulging in the pleasant but decadent practice of book-sniffing (out of which I grew while still a callow teen), but rather of periods of exhilaration (not to say hilarity or participation in the Hillary Nation) the sources of which I choose not to examine too closely. Sufficient unto the day is the exaltation thereof.
