Last month, she said the White House was spending $200 million-a-day for the president’s trip to Asia – a figure the White House dismissed as “a long trip from reality.”

I decided to look to see who's on the committee now. You can find the listing here. In addition to the perpetually interesting Alcee L. Hastings, turns out I'm on the committee too! I sure have missed a lot of meetings. Maybe that's why they aren't sending me any checks. Any committee that can survive Hastings can survive Bachmann.

"Any committee that can survive Hastings can survive Bachmann."
How true....
It is pretty sad that a guy who was impeached off of a Federal Judgeship by a Democratic Congress cound end up on that Committee because he was favored by the Congressional Black Caucus. I'll be very un-PC here and say, "Affirmative Action in Action."

Pretty soon the committee will be recommending that all soldiers' head gear be lined with tinfoil to keep the alien death rays out.
And why would the Congressional Black Caucus besmirch their own name by supporting someone who as been impeached? Sheesh. You want to respect, do something that deserves it.

She wanted to be part of the GOP leadership. As in the number four in charge. So this was her carrot for raising all the money she did. It also has the added bonus where if she blabs what she hears in that committee he can toss her.

How is this NOT a punchline to a joke?
Tell you what. Since she's said that CO2 is not dangerous I think we should put her in a small room full of nothing but CO2.
Or maybe this is all overblown and she isn't really a batshit crazy conspiracy mongering idiot. Let's look at the things she's said and then decide:
"Take this into consideration. If we look at American history, between 1942 and 1947, the data that was collected by the Census Bureau was handed over to the FBI and other organizations at the request of President Roosevelt, and that's how the Japanese were rounded up and put into the internment camps. I'm not saying that that's what the Administration is planning to do, but I am saying that private personal information that was given to the Census Bureau in the 1940s was used against Americans to round them up, in a violation of their constitutional rights, and put the Japanese in internment camps." -Rep. Michele Bachmann, June 2009
"That's why people need to continue to go to the town halls, continue to melt the phone lines of their liberal members of Congress, and let them know, under no certain circumstances will I give the government control over my body and my health care decisions." -Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), a pro-lifer who completely missed the irony of using the same slogan as the pro-choice movement in arguing against health care reform.
"Carbon dioxide is portrayed as harmful. But there isn't even one study that can be produced that shows that carbon dioxide is a harmful gas." -Rep. Michelle Bachmann, April, 2009
"There are hundreds and hundreds of scientists, many of them holding Nobel Prizes, who believe in intelligent design." -Rep. Michele Bachmann, Oct. 2006
[Wrong is so many ways. Wrong in that she's defending intelligent design, wrong that she thinks "hundreds and hundreds" is a large number, wrong in thinking that there are any Nobel winning evolution biologist who believe in ID.]
''I think there is a point where you say enough is enough to government intrusion. ...Does the federal government really need to know our phone numbers?''
[ Yeah, that's not paranoid at all. Good thing the government doesn't have a phone book]
''And what a bizarre time we're in, when a judge will say to little children that you can't say the pledge of allegiance, but you must learn that homosexuality is normal and you should try it.''
[Oh good, she's adding bigotry and conspiracy together into one giant batshit crazy quote. If only she could have slipped "and they they'll kill your babies" into that quote it would be the perfect Fox News talking point.]
''If we took away the minimum wage -- if conceivably it was gone -- we could potentially virtually wipe out unemployment completely because we would be able to offer jobs at whatever level.''
[Ah yes, wipe out unemployment by allowing people to hire you for 2 cents an hour. After a 40 hour week you could almost afford something from the dollar menu]
