That seems like a good deal. I wish I liked OM's more. For some reason they don't feel as comfortable to play sitting down as a dread. Which doesn't make any sense because the D is larger. but there it is.

The sitka is way gorgeous, and I love mahog/sitka.
Terry, was that the first one with the new headstock logo?

Hide glue, etc.? What year is it, do you recall? Also, what's your take on the saddle issue that the seller mentions, in case a buyer wants a higher action, or bigger frets put on? Speaking of which, what size fret wire do you use? TIA, -MM

It's #35, made in 2009. The saddle is not an issue. It's a tight fit as it should be and those require a saddle puller. Basically a small end nipper with the jaws ground smooth. From the looks of the picture there is probably 3/32 of saddle showing so it could be shimmed up easily without being too tall. Out of the shop it was set up with about 1/8" saddle showing and 3/32 E 2/32e action at the 12th. The saddle was individually intonated on each string for that action with light strings (12-53). Fretwire on that one should be Martin wire from the 1833 shop which has a width of .084 and a height of .043 before leveling. I would guess they were somewhere around .038 to .040 out of the shop. Pretty much the same as LMI FW74 or Stew Mac 0148 wire. I now use the StewMac 0148 as I think it's a little harder than the Martin wire. Marty has had that guitar on his bench so he can chime in if needed.

Sounds like a very cool instrument from within our little family.
Hmmm.

Beautiful instrument. I am tempted too -- I'm satisified in my long-term relationship with a mahogany/sitka Taylor, but a fine OM is the Guitar Of My Dreams.
I noticed the eBay seller expanded Dr. Kennedy's specialties to include neurosurgery.

I noticed the eBay seller expanded Dr. Kennedy's specialties to include neurosurgery. That is accurate, though, Don. At least that is what he TOLD me when he opened up my elbow to look at the ulnar nerve, using what looked suspiciously like a saddle puller. (Guitar, not horse.)
