Hi, all.
Today is officially my last day to be on-call. It has been very busy, but I have been quite cheerful knowing that I'll not have to take call again. I'm considering a ceremony for the disposal of my pager. My current plan involves a golf club and a lake...I wonder how many pieces a pager can shatter into, and how far will they travel?

Good news Shannon. You're a free man. At least you are freer, and you have been wanting the change for a long time. Good for you.
Report back on the pieces of pager. *snicker*

Just back from hosting the Coffee Grounds' open mike -- Dave Radtke was among those who performed, and he performed well, indeed -- he nailed a very tricky Peter Mayer song, I thought.
Highlight of the evening, though, was a new (to our open mike) trio called Lazy Red, female singer and two guys playing guitar and singing -- did some Lucinda Williams, Lyle Lovett, etc., very nice harmonies and instrumental work.
Made the whole evening especially worthwhile.
