Cold dreary morning here. Lots of folks out gunning for that rodent that said we'd have an early Spring. Mowed about a quarter of the weeds yesterday but it was cold so I think the rest will have to wait.

Morning. Another cool one here, but at least there's no mowing.
T-bob, I saw that thread. I can wait for the dvd. In the meantime, I downloaded the book.

Good Morning Good People
Clear and cold with no warmup in sight. Household chores and dog bathing ahead, maybe some shop time. Thanks to craigslist and a muscular son I now have a cast-iron jointer in the shop that I have been cleaning and tweaking. Not the most fun power tool but it will earn its keep in my present door-building ventures.
Kramster -- a dramatic dog and lovely hiking buddies. I would hike for miles for one of those smiles.
Have a peaceful (very) early Spring Saturday one and all.

Good day -- brutally sunny and frigid here, like 15 degrees. So, to escape cold weather, what do I do? Head NORTH, of course, to Duluth, where $15 lift tickets and a reasonably priced hotel room beckon. There is a beer tasting up there tonight, too, some charity deal I may have to check out. Then on Sunday I will motor lazily back to Minnie via Wisconsin two-lanes, stopping at a cheesemaker's shop or two...

kramster, now I understand the allure of hiking.
Good morning, all. Should be 50s-mid 70s here. I can tolerate it, I guess. I need to do some yardwork and then prepare a bunch of lead sheets for a first rehearsal tomorrow. Have a good day.

Running two residences, I'm trying hard to cut costs. As I've been on the road for the past two weeks, I had unplugged everything that draws power, to include the TV, cable box, and cable modem.
I woke up this morning with thoughts of Premier League footie dancing in my head, but, probably because the box hasn't been drawing a signal, the cable Nazis are now asking me to call them since the box "is not authorized for a signal."
Bastards.
(Well dang - less than two minutes on hold, and less than three on the line and the box is back on. I take it back.)

It's almost the end of March, and it's a wintry 25 degrees. Just as well, I've got reports to write today. If I write them well, two students will be getting iPads.

Just got daughter, SIL and their 2 boys on the road to Kartchner Caverns, Tombstone and other sights. Nice to have them visit, but it sure is peaceful now without a 7 and 9 year old. We can sit back and relax until this afternoon. Their 5th wheel is parked in our yard and is darn near as big as our house. Makes our cabover camper look tiny.
The older boy has been carrying around the Oscar Schmidt guitar that he just got for his birthday. I cringe whenever he turns or bends over without watching where the neck is. I tuned it up for him and showed him how to use the electronic tuner that we got him. He didn't seem to have much interest in learning how to tune it himself, but he will when he starts learning how to play.

Mid 80's here today. Spent the morning talking to a financial advisor about getting pure crap in order. Financial situation isn't all that bad right now. Good to hear it.

Spent the morning up at Jim Shenk's "Wooden Music". He's got a 00, an archtop (big leaf maple back and sides, cherry shading), and an F mandolin all in the works. We played quite a while, me on my Shenk dreadnought and Jim on his lap steel.
