Yup, too early, Bob but your DamnYankees are still in first so you have that.
Looks like we have to watch hurricane Irene all week to see if she's a problem. I could use the rain but the winds not so much. Right now, deciding whether to golf or not this morning. Had a nice visit from a former co-worker, and his wife, yesterday and hearing about the old company reinforces my belief that getting out when I did was the right decision.

They were going to call it the MP1, but nobody knew where to stick the earbuds. Ah, yes. It's a pity Ernie Enema's ear wax removal system never caught on. Luckily, Ernie later adapted his prototype for other applications.

Mornin'.....
Pretty nice here too, this morning.
At least outside. First morning to wake up with Shay gone. Carrie was noticeably irritable, Ty was OK. Received a call about 30 minutes ago from the principal of Cimarron High School (where we wanted to enroll Shay since the other kids where she is go there) and she was rejected due to low state assessment scores and her last two years performance. This creates a major hiccup in our plans for Shay.....not sure what to do yet. Dodge City schools are out of the question and I don't think it would work here either. We have a serious hump to get over.

59 degrees out there right now. I love it. Acorns are starting to fall like crazy. Nothing like being popped on the head by an acorn that drops 60 feet from the top of one of the trees. LJ

Good morning. It's supposed to be way too hot here all week. Grumble.
Yesterday afternoon we got our younger daughter on the phone and heard her report on three weeks of field research in the Marshall Islands. Quite an adventure.
Enjoy your day.

Beautiful day here from my perch just outside of Beer Town. I have a lot to do today to get ready to host my bookclub tonight. The good thing about a big club is that one doesn't have to take a turn for a good long time! Morning gig tomorrow at a nursing home. May load some gear into the car this afternoon...

Good Morning Good People
Working from home this morning. The company is getting a new computer system, networked within and between offices. Computers shut down at 3:00 Friday, the computer guys supposedly worked all weekend, and the new system is supposed to be on-line at noon (I will believe it when I see it). Meanwhile clients are screaming for reports. Why they are in such a hurry to get boring reports is beyond me.
Don #299 -- thinking of you and yours today.
Have a tolerable Monday one and all.

Don #299 -- thinking of you and yours today. Thank you, sir.....(as well as everyone else). On the lighter side, I think of you often. But don't get any goofy ideas. I think of you frequently when I pick up the Goodall.....the link to which I received from you. ;D By way of an update.....Barb remembered she has another social worker friend who just happens to own a Hotel/B&B in Cimarron. Barb is cutting a deal with the gal for a room.....which means we now have a Cimarron residence technically and they have to accept Shay at the high school. The idea of a residence being a loophole was actually brought to our attention by the principal. We knew each other from earlier when he also owned a grocery store and his wife is friends with a gal that sings that I used to accompany. Barb can use the room occasionally for work when she is over that way. I think we're going to make something work.

Don, that Shay is a very lucky young woman...even if she does not yet know/appreciate that. She will one day.

Hello everyone. Still in a typical summertime weather here. Just too hot for me to do very much outside. I'm hoping fall will soon arrive.
