Well, I dropped off Black Beauty for a brake job today, first brake work needed in 94,000 miles, not bad. Exhaust system hanging in there, too, knock on stainless steel.
The place that is doing it has an annual deal where if you bring in a bag of nonperishable groceries for a food drive, they will install pads and shoes for free, and if you need rotors turned, you get a 25 percent discount on that. It's all on the up and up; they have been doing it each August for years...
So after dropping the car on St. Paul's Grand Avenue, I walked half a mile to Marshall St., grabbed a bus, transferred to light rail and was deposited right at Strib Towers about half an hour after leaving the garage. Sweet!
