Good early morning, pickers, strummers et al. I think I'll be sleeping on the planes today since I've been insomniaced. I'll be leaving for the airport in less than three hours. I hope all is well for everyone. iJam, here I come!

G'mornin' - up too early after staying up too late, definite day for a nap!! Met Don (#299) Clark and Factorychef last night at FC's fine country home, sitting on the back porch of his house listening to good music from Don and Dub and the coyotes yipping in the distance under an almost full moon. Good times!

Cooler weather has been a welcome change here in the mid-south. Hope all you I-Jammers have a safe journey to and from your appointed venue(s). I'm certain the music and fellowship will be indescribably good.

Normally those garden statues look kind of tacky, but yours is so life-like.

Good morning all.
We are celebrating Jessica's birthday tonight, so we're heading off to Vinton early in the morning tomorrow.
Looking forward to it!

Good morning.
Some interesting weather phenomena here. Remnants of Lou to the west and Katia to the east have created a corridor of torrential rain running right through DC and surrounding suburbs. Park and Ride lots with dozens of cars flooded to thier door handles. Folks tubing down major thoroughfares. Some really damn pricey real estate that's become lake property- inside-the-lake that is.
Wild times.

Yeah. I was about to gripe about the premature cool weather around here, then I thought of what the weather pattern is doing to the right coast, and I decided to zip my lip.

Wild times. Just 25 mi. W of I-95 and we've mostly escaped this pattern since mid-day Wednesday. Whenever I've pulled up the radar map the last 2-3 days I see this north to south major storm that runs right along I-95 from Richmond to Baltimore along the cold front boundary. I guess Katia was holding that front but now that Katia has moved off the front will too. I hear 10-15" in southern Fairfax where we used to live. Portions of the Beltway were under water during last evening's rush hour. But high and sorta dry here. Friends in PA and NJ are not so lucky. Some were just finally drying out basements, etc. from floods from Irene when it all started up again.

Good morning. It's sprinkling here.
Best wishes to all Idiotjammers. Wish I were there. One of two reasons I couldn't is a presentation I have to give today. I think I'm ready.
Have a good day.

Yeah, talking to my son in Fairfax last night, he got home OK from Alexandria but his wife was 2 hours late getting home from Tyson's Corner due to flooding. Haven't heard from a friend in Baltimore yet. We were high and dry over here but I kept watching the radar over on the mainland and it looked bad.

Ouch on the east coast weather. It's beautiful here today, nigh about perfect. Which is good, I think Ijam is this weekend.

Took my wife 2 hours to get home last night from Reston. They were kind of at the epicenter with 6 inches of rain in a couple hours of near continuous thunderstorms. Portions of 50 and 29 were simply submerged and impassable. Little creeks were flowing like the Potomac. The sheriffs had boats out and were doing water rescues. Crazy stuff.
On brighter note it's supposed to clear today and then be spectacular for our CD release party tomorrow! Those that aren't in Iowa are always welcome in Tom's Brook.

Steady rain here all week. We live on a hill, so flooding isn't a problem for us, but drainage can be.
Some friends were going from Montgomery County to Wolf Trap Park in VA for a concert. When they realized that one lane of the beltway was underwater, they just turned around. $200 in tickets gone, but they didn't get washed away.

Good morning everyone. I wish I was in Iowa and glad I'm not back in DC. I'm wishing good thoughts for both groups of people.
At work, I'm just about caught up with where I said I'd be today.

Cute quote from my niece's FB status:
"I don't need to flirt, I will seduce you with my awkwardness!"
