Beautiful day here, and I am champing at the bit, but still have a few logistical items to check off my list. I missed the Pack game last night because I was at work, but I happened to be near a TV while standing at the page proofing counters and saw this .... www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qmc1yVmuXxkWow. Pack looked great. I am so looking forward to communing with all my dear music buddies today and through the weekend, and getting to meet Mr. Hanesworth in person, as well. Those who couldn't make it, take heart -- we will do all we can to record and capture via video the gist of the proceedings.

Yeah, we should talk Packers!
That was a really exciting game. Two VERY good teams!
It looked like Green Bay was going to run away with it in the first quarter, but New Orleans stayed with it. And what a finish! Literally down to the last second...actually past the last second. New Orleans was literally still in the game with 0:00 on the clock! How cool is that?!?
Its a long season, but Green Bay certainly looks more than capable of repeating.
Brett who?

Happy Idiot Jam everyone!!
Lovely fall day here.
Got my book back from Blurb. Looks good. Not perfect (they block up the shadows a little), but certainly adequate. I think Anne will flip.
Lars had a good trip yesterday - 5 hour trip to the gig and back. ouch.
We sold the Cruiser the other day. Gooom bye. yay.

US 30? Is that quicker or just more scenic?

US 30? Is that quicker or just more scenic? Just so's I could say I traveled that much of the old Lincoln Highway, I came home from I-jam via 30 all the way (Warsaw is also on 30)

US 30? Is that quicker or just more scenic? It's quicker. Actually, stay on I-88 to Morrison then hop off to US-30. Taking I-88 to I-80 then west to 218/I-380 lets you travel at a higher rate of speed but adds many miles to the trip. Enough miles to add a couple of minutes to the journey plus eat up a lot more fuel because you're driving faster. If you have guaranteed late arrival, just take US-30 to US-218 and north towards Vinton. Just before you enter Vinton you'll see a road west to Garrison. That's where we'll be. Safe journey. - Dub

I was on US 30 this morning and got in the middle of a high speed police chase close to the IN/IL line. I was heading from IN to safety in IL when a car doing about 105 shot around me followed by 11 equally fast police cars both marked and unmarked. The bad guy shot around the corner heading for the RR crossing where a train was barreling down on the intersection and shot in front of the train and across the tracks into IL. Most of the police cars came to a screeching halt in front of the tracks as the train shot through. I think at least one police car made it through to continue the pursuit and it was very close. Made for an interesting drive along the usually peaceful Rte. 30. My assumption is that it was an IN "Hoosier" moonshiner whose still had just been discovered by revenuers. Lot of that in IN especially in the Warsaw area. So I am told anyway. Or a bank robber. Lots of banks being robbed in NW IN lately. Sort of a find your own stimulus package. Anyway, I almost lost my coffee all over the car.

Mornin'Afternoon.....
Slow going today. IJam is NOT the place to wake up and puke. Don't know what hit me....but I'm about ready to venture over to Garrison and see what's happening. Lower back and stomach are still kinda weird, hopefully will subside soon.

Just got to the Moderne-Motel in beautiful Vinton... seen Hammond, seen Marshall's car, saw a lot of beautiful trees torn down on the way in. No high speed chases, just the usual number of lane-oblivious drivers.

My Mom, in Lancaster, PA, says this reminds her of Hurricane Agnes. Yeah, 1972. After that they built dikes to that water level (41 ft). Now they expect the river to reach that height again. I have a song by Richard Hood called The Flood of '72 that we recorded back then.
