What a week so far, with the HSBF coming up Fri-Sun. And my DVR will be working hard taping Yankee playoff games. There's some tough competition out there for them, especially the Tigres. I may also go see my favorite football team, The Patriots, play The Raiders if I can find some reasonably priced good seats. I'm bidding on a couple of 40 yard liners 9 rows back behind the Pats bench. TV and instant replay has spoiled me a bit, but the excitement of a live game has no equal - but must pay close attention! If I don't get them at my price, I'll just go see some more free music. Sunday has Blind Boys of Alabama, Emmy Lou, Dr. John, Kieran Kane/Kevin Welch/Fats Kaplan, and others who may pleasantly surprise me.
Top of the morning to you all.

Good morning. T-bob, one of my nephews has asked me to root for the Raiders and I've agreed so they're toast.
The rain is missing us so I got half the place mowed yesterday and will hopefully get the other half today so I can golf if things dry out around here later this week.

Mornin'.....
Up and atom here. An early run to Meade to buy new work gloves and For Sale signs - one for the camper and one for the house. Then make a lunch and head out to the farm to spend the day on the tractor and grain cart. Will be kind of slow going, with the heat stressed corn not making near what it usually does.

Been at work for four and a half hours now. The cooler temps sure do make for good sleeping weather.
Several people have asked if I'm nervous about our upcoming wedding this Saturday. I've told them that I'm too old and exhausted to be nervous. I have received a good education as to why this sort of thing should be done when you are much younger.

Have fun on that tractor, Don, I know that's what you want to do. It's sunny here this morning, which means a good day for a drive.

Lydia is sick again today, which means I'm working from home until the other kids get home from school, at which point I'll head into the office and probably work there until 9:00pm.
Waaahhhh. (<------ big whine)
Got a call last night from a guy I used to play with in The Heatseekers. Says he is putting a new project together. Gonna send me some clips today. Might be fun.
Otherwise, business as usual.

I've moved from onw side of Delhi to the other. For the three stays here (16 weeks in total), I have stayed at a corporate apartment. Basically a standard three beedroom three bath house that many upper middle class Indians live in. I enjoyed the kitchen and would buy groceries at a local store and cook most of my meals during the week and splurge a little at the mall on the weekends.
The place I'm working with this week doesn't have an apartment. So we stay at the Park Plaza Hotel. I'm in a bit of culture shock. You go from beds that are hard as a rock with no top sheet (just a comforter) to a room where there is literally a chocolate on your pillow every night. You can actually buy a steak in the resturant (although I'm pretty sure they have no idea how to cook it).
for fun, yesterday, I ordered a bacon cheeseburger for lunch. Yeah, you can get that at the upperscale hotels. Both beef and pork on one item. The pattie was over cooked (normal for here) but the rest was good. Nice toasted bun, lettuce and tomato, bacon, swiss cheese with mustard ketchup and thousand island dression on the side, a small salad and steak fries. Oh, and the burger also had a rather nice fried egg on it as well. I've never seen a hamburger with a fried egg on it. I pulled that off and added a little pepper and it was great. the burger wasn't bad either, just a little dry. Still it was a serious change of pace from what I have been used to here.

Another cool and rainy day here. I can not see the driveway because of all the acorns that fell overnight. Looks like another wheelbarrow load or more. I will be glad when they stop coming down. Living in a wooded area surrouned by oaks that are 60 feet tall has its drawbacks--especially when one hits in the center of your head! Anyway, good morning.
