I like all the "what are you eating, listening to, reading, watching, etc. threads. It's a living, breathing current affair of the exclusive Soundhole population, and to me, it brings us all together even more than usual. I'm watching a new series on Showtime - Homeland. So far, so good. It has a few flaws, hopefully to be worked on and out. Claire Danes, Damian Lewis, and Mandy Patinkin head the cast. All that having been said, enjoy your Sunday.

Still at my dad's. So far he's hanging in there. Sure am glad I left my old Epiphone FT 145 Texan here.

Good for you to be hanging in there as well. I went through the same routine 3 years ago. COPD...

Good morning, or it will be once the sun comes up.
Fatstrat, is your Dad under hospice care or on his own? Although I have mixed emotions about it, my wife does it at the hospital, I guess hospice helps the family as much as it comforts the patient. Both of my parents went quickly, thankfully.
Back to the golf course this morning. I'm trying to decide whether to continue golf or drop it next year (I pay yearly). I'll never be any good at it and it is expensive although cheaper here than anywhere else I've been. Nice weather this weekend so I'm going out by myself so there's no competitive pressure and I can play at my speed (slow). I have until December to decide whether there's any "Fun" value in it.
Aqua, sorry about the Tigers yesterday. Maybe they'd be better off without me rooting for them.

No Hospice. And it's a puzzlement to me. I've asked about it several times. Can't get a straight answer from anyone.

Sorry to read about your father, FS. We went through a year and a half of fatal illness with my mother five, six years ago. I wish you and your family the best.
Have a good day, all. We're up and at 'em for our building's annual sidewalk sale.

Up and sort of awake. We're off in a bit to go watch Claire's swim meet. I only have three things left on the honey-do list. I head back to NY tomorrow afternoon.

Good Morning Good People
Another perfect October day ahead. Might go downtown for the fimal day of Artprze, then stack firewood. Might need to order more firewood to get through the long northern winter. Or maybe not -- our fireplace is useful only for ambience and only provides heat if you're sitting right next to it.
Have a sonorous Sunday one and all.

Just got home from a week in PA. Gettysburg, Lancaster Co., Philadelphia, Hershey, The Flight 93 Memorial, and a few other places that my tired brain can not think of right now. We started the week in cold rain, saw some snow come down in the mountains and finished it with 80 degrees and short sleeves. Now I am looking at a yard full of leaves to be done. It is good to be home even though we had fantastic time.
Oh yeah, good morning everyone!

Get the book "Gettysburg, A Journey in time". I can't recall authors name right now. But I'm sure it's for sale in the museum gift shop. It has the Matthew Brady pics taken of the battlefield just after the battle. Often w/dead soldiers etc. Then finds and photographs the exact sites from exact camera angle in modern times. Often the topography has changed. Open fields now forest, and visa versa. Really add alot to the experience. I've never understood why when Brady photographed the Battlefield, he went to all the outlaying battlesites. But seems to have excluded The Angle. Where by far the most carnage would've been found.

We spent two days exploring the battlefield and town. We did the 3 disc auto tour, spent time in the visitor's center to see the film, cyclorama (sp?)and museum. We covered a lot of ground and the 2.5 hour auto tour took about 8 hours to complete with stops and explorations. Gazing at the battlefield from Little Roundtop is quite an experience.

morning... beautiful day in the making. No Alexandria today, it got moved to next Sunday, so I get to go to Michael Johnson's house concert tonight. We had Michael Monroe at Creek House last night. His phone rang in the middle of a song, later we learned it was Michael Johnson calling to say he was running late and wouldn't make it by to sit in.

Mornin'..... Pains and saddens me to report that I am sitting here at home this morning, not making it to Dodge City to church. Was scheduled to play another solo piece too, another new original arrangement. Was going to go back to Cimarron to look again at houses. The pain part comes from evidently being in the process of passing a kidney stone of undetermined size that keeps me running to the head about every ten minutes to pee a few drops. OW! The sadness comes from not getting to see Shay. With the exception of maybe a 3 second exchange Wednesday night, that means I have to endure three weeks without seeing her. Almost unbearable..... On the brighter side (gotta keep looking for those) it is overcast and we're getting more rain. This will bring our two day total to close to an inch of desperately needed moisture. I think I'll go get some more coffee and console myself with the Goodall. .................. ;D
